Yep.

Away against the top 4 our last win was Round 21, 2015. The Brandon Ahchee and Sam Gray breakout game......

Here's a breakdown:

2024: (0-?) Wont play Sydney or Bris away, Carlton is this week, If Freo hold their spot we play them in the last round.
2023: (0-3) Brisbane (48), Carlton (50) and Collingwood (71) - All 3 of our biggest losses, next 2 were to Adelaide.
2022: (0-3) Geelong (35), Melbourne (14 - TIO), Collingwood (6)
2021: (0-1) Brisbane (49)
2020: (0-2) Brisbane (37), Geelong (60)
2019: (0-3) Brisbane (17), Richmond (38), Collingwood (39)
2018: (0-3) West Coast (42), Collingwood (51), Hawks (3 - Tas)
2017: (0-3) Adelaide (84), GWS (31), Geelong (2)
2016: (0-2) Sydney (67), GWS (86)
2015: (1-2) Freo (7), Sydney (10), Hawks (22)

So since 2015, we are 0 W - 20 L - Averaging a Loss of 41.5 pts.
I took this another step further.

We are not only 0-20, with an average losing margin of 41.5pts, but we have:

  • A percentage of 59.96% in these games
  • An average score for of only 62
  • Only once have we conceeded under 81,
  • 12 of the 20 games we've conceded over 100.

Yeah they have still got a couple of useful forwards only 97 goals between them this year.

Cripps, Weitering, Walsh, Saad etc

We havent got close to beating a top 8 side the whole season when the final sieran sounds except for geelong which we very almost fell over in the last quarter - what makes you think it will all of a sudden miraculously happen tonight. Yes carltons got injuries but theyve actually got depth unlike us. We’re going to get nowhere close

They didn’t FINISH in the Top 4 that year.
Fair enough didn't realise, safe to say then if carlton lose they don't make top 4. For the record I think you guys get it done by about 20 points tonight. The Afl giving Carlton a 5 day break this time of year is stupid it will cost them the 4 points tonight and their fans will be up in arms after the game I can just see it.

The only word for that is Putrid.
Didn't realise it was so bad.

I know this may not be the popular opinion, but maybe we should look at a new coach?

What it proves to me, when you see info like that, is that Hinkley and co are pulling off the greatest con job of all time.

Those stats, aligned with many others say that we're absolutely no chance tonight. Yet people in the media and many supporters are again riding the wave after we played 1 quarter against the bottom side, believing we're a solid chance.

I'm convinced we'll lose, but I just find it staggering that this sort of effect has not been more widely noticed.

I'm with ya,

I cant imagine anyone in any sport with a similar record against top sides has had 1 extension let alone 3? shame on everyone associated with the club

We have no chance tonight and the stats just prove that.

This game has the following vibe:
  • Russell Ebert tribute game
  • Brian Fairclough tribute game
  • Every Showdown for the last few years
  • The unlosable Bulldogs Prelim final
  • That Ben Brown North Melbourne game
My prediction: Carlton by 63 points

Holy Toledo. I can't unsee that.

Good work Cookbook, go and get yourself a kit kat after unveiling that horse manure.

We are 3-2 against top 8 sides as shit as we're going

Haven't beaten a side that's finished top 4 away from home in many years.

Can't see that changing tonight.

#sackhinkley

That is amazing, in our 13 in a row last year we didn't beat one of the top 4 away from home?

Yes, looked it up and you are right. Best we could do in that run was Saints (6th) and Swans (8th). Although that is the final standings, not sure where they were when we played them during the minor round.

Last time we met Carlton at Marvel in Round 18 last year we were thumped by 50 points. Dan Houston, who some people are prepared to trade, had 41 touches.

Help yourself to a second Kit Kat Cookbook.
