If we were serious about our season, we'd try something different, try to inject some kind of energy into the squad. This is what it should be against GWS. Could be terrible but at least there might be some excitement instead of the same old spuds.
B- Bergman, Rat, BZT
HB - Farrell, Allir, Williams
C - Burgoyne, Wines, Mead
HF - DBJ, Marshall, Rozee
F - George, Lord, Anasta
1R - Sweet/Soldo, Butters, JHF
Int - Jones, Drew, Houston, Boak

Rozee, JHF, Butters rotate more through the half forward Flank. Bergman back and Jones forward. Houston rolling wing/mid/forward more so than defensive half.

Why do we bother with Never Beens like McEntee and Evans? Anyone can see that neither belong on an AFL list (except maybe Norf's).

Throw in Burton and cooked Dixon and we're just taking the piss.

Carr cannot coach this club. Midfield again drops its bundle when it's time to dig in against a good side. He is as responsible for that as Ken.

Moonta should've won a flag last year, but this bloke got absolutely destroyed when it mattered most. He'll fit right in at Port...
The defence was poor but no team in the comp could have defended the last qtr demolition fiasco.

We lost it when we pick an unfit ruckman who was knackered. The third ruck in three weeks.
What would you expect when after a knee Op the Coaches believed playing half a game for the Magpies was enough.

I am not sure our list is as good as we think. We have 3-4 consistent performers but the rest are hot and cold when those 3 or 4 consistent players have an off game the others are not able to step up. Butters, Houston, Rozee and Drew are reasonably consistent but the rest are too hot and cold.

Last night was a good example as to why I think we are an over rated outfit that will at best finish 5-8th. Even if we make the finals many of us know we will struggle to win a final while Ken is calling the shots.

Posted from the depths of despair.

Most of the captains had us miss the 8 entirely. I thought they were nuts, but they obviously see & know things that most of us don’t.

We are missing McKenzie badly. He was our best one on one defender & a very good cover defender. A real team player, strong mentally & physically.

Agree totally, replace Burton with McKenzie & we are way more stronger in defence.

With BZT , Ratogalea and Allir all poor below their knees , the support cast need to be strong in that area , I’m not sure if Jones and Burton are , Sean opening for Sinn when he recovers from his collarbone injury.
Sinn will be player who will learn his craft at half back and then go on the ball. This year I just want him back for finals.
In the interim picking Williams is not the worst selection move we could make.

Not publicly. A few supported his run for the board so I'm sure privately are backing him up, but who knows how much.

I'd love Scott Hodges to storm Alberton when the next board meeting is on and say what the **** are you doing to my football club! That would put the wind up a most of them.

Didn’t he say Port in the AFL isn’t the true Port ?

One of the reasons for this is the lack of ability to take a contested mark and hence why they try to mark on leads into pockets. Since Dixon has become completely uncompetitive (and in fact cant even get to a contest without falling over) the have no one to take a contested mark. Marshall and Finlayson are no good in a contest.
Dixon out Lord in
Finlayson out Sweet or Visentini in
I’m not even worried about contested marks. Just the action of leading up at the ball carrier forces the defender to make a decision, follow and contest creating space behind or stay back and cover allowing an easy hit up mark.

The fact is we don’t make the opposition defenders have to think. They all know where the ball is going as our leads are all the same way.

Don't care.

Him storming the board room would put the wind up people.

Mead was impressive last night. He looks like a natural midfielder. Just about our most improved player.

There’s an added bonus. Port like playing JHF in the forward line. With average talls and worse smalls especially with Rioli out, we need JHF there. Mead provides good cover when he pushes forward.

Port in the AFL is the new Port , not the old Port . As much as we can hate it , not being as tough with a decent dose of mongrel .
It is what it is unfortunately. I think we’re pretty much ready for change now we’ve been competitive and built our attendances and balance sheet . Hopefully the next phase will right the ship and we become more like the old Port

JHF is our best leading FWD

He hasn't made his so called worth evident in any way. This club is obsessed with mediocrity.
I feel the coaches accept mediocre and so most of the player deliver. If the furnace was turned up the players would increase based on expectation to perform. Pressure from below helps, we have little.

If it’s a problem league wide, we need more driven players wanting to win, a bit like what REH was saying

Bad luck last night lads, you had a red hot crack but just ran out of steam. Reckon the coaches are priming you for a deep September run. Wouldn’t want to face Port in a home final, most sides would be pretty nervous about that.

Mate you've won 1 game in the last 30 and that cost you Harley Reid

Thanks for the laugh 😂

Congratulations on not losing your sense of humour, can’t be easy for a North supporter.
