You have to remember you had history on your side then.
As the saying went you never go on holidays in September as Port will be playing finals and most probably the GF.
We expected to win because we had been winning forever.
That door closed when we entered this competition, it was never going to be like that again EVER!
The transition from the past to the present has been to much for some people to grasp.
We will get our time for glory again but it’s never going to be to the degree it used to be.

I honestly think the idea that Port people expect to win all the time is a complete myth.

Port people just expect their own administration not to gaslight them, to have some level of accountability, and to at least try to win premierships.

The expectation people are pushing on Hinkley isn't for him to win a flag every year, but it bloody sure is to at least make one grand final after being given over a decade to achieve this low bar, to not break an all-time record for games coached without making a grand final, and for our administration to not allow such a record to happen here, especially while they simultaneously spit out 3 premierships in 5 years type fantasies.
