Hopefully Moore will be a 100 game player approaching the quality of Cloke.
He has played 1 good game.
I am not putting any more expectation on him than that.

So you say Moore game might be a 1 off thing?

Really disappointed with this loss. Apparently we don't like playing in July. Pretty sure this is the second year in a row that we have gone through the month without a win. Good news is we have no more games in July so hopefully that will help.

Positives
- We were able to stay in the game despite being outplayed particularly in the first half
- Darcy Moore - 9 possessions, 100% efficiency, 4 Marks (3 contested), 5 goals
- Jordan De Goey - 18 Possessions including 11 contested, 78% efficiency, 5 tackles, 3 clearances, 6 Inside 50s
- Brayden Maynard - 16 disposals including 7 contested, 75% efficiency, 2 Inside 50s, 4 Rebound 50s
- Brodie Grundy - 20 disposals including 8 contested, 80% efficiency, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 2 goals, 17 Hit Outs
- Frost, Brown, Williams, Toovey & Langdon - All played well, and were a big part of the reason we stayed in the contest. Brown and Williams would have to be in consideration for All Australian wouldn't they? Or does the fact they wear a Collingwood jumper make them ineligible?

Negatives
- We got jumped again. This is the 3rd match in a row where we have been slow starters in the match and it has killed us each time
- Another honourable losses
- We can't win in July
- Jesse White - this match was set up for him to dominate with Cloke missing and the Bulldogs missing tall defenders and he didn't
- Despite knowing the strength of Bulldogs defensive rebound we couldn't shut it down.
- Oxley & Kennedy - didn't think either played particularly well today both had low disposal efficiency and little impact.
- Umpires - I don't like blaming the umpires, and they weren't the reason we lost, but I thought they did have an influence which you don't want. What has happened to the holding the ball rule. Has that been thrown out because apparently the umpires don't want to pay it.

Point well put, as said in my original post, it may be emotion talking. I am glad there are people who can make me see sense.
No offence intended, but we have tended to place far too much expectation on our kids this season....as can be seen from the ridiculous reactions when we lose.

We don't spread anywhere near as well or as quickly as other teams. Our midfield doesn't exactly have speed when you look at the names so we have to rely on being clean inside so we can get it outside; which we weren't today.

One thing though; we got 7 goals from our KPF duo of White and Moore. At the start of the game we would have thought that was a huge win. Get 3 or 4 from the smalls, and another 2 or 3 from the Mids and we've kicked 15. I just don't see how White can be used as the #EscapeGoat again .. It's getting tedious. He's not Wayne Carey so stop expecting him to play like him. We also don't have the benefit of a transfer market where you csn go and buy Royce Hart.
You are on the money with our pace and spread, combined with disposal. Maybe if we can get more disposal in the clear, it will improve.
We really lack pace. We need Seedsman , freeman and TBS fit and firing.

And yet the Dogs had their best game this season in regards to marks I50, but our defenders were superb, you're right.....

I'll start with the negatives because i'm angry

- Completely out coached. They had so many more options when going forward.
- Some of our players are way to hesitant to take the game on and move the ball forward quickly. This is exactly why I liked Seedsman, this trait set him apart from the rest of the squad (when he's getting a kick).
- They executed basic fundamental skills so much better than us.
- Fasolo had to step up, was really bad.
- Kennedy had to take his opportunity and he didn't. Don't give up on him yet though.
- Oxley is just...well not tough. Time to go back to the vfl
- Witts is a liability, stop playing him with Grundy
- Goldsack is quite bad at football

Positives

- Darcy Moore outscoring Carlton.
- Maynard and De Goey continue to get better
- Sidebottom, Swan, Pendlebury all good.

That's really it.

It took Cloke 90 games to kick a bag of five
Point taken.
Mark McGough.

I'm not trying to be anything but realistic about potential at this stage of a very early career.

Grundy he ain't.;)

Extremely unimpressed with Witt's ruckwork. Ineffective majority of the times and when he does get a clean hit it goes straight to the opposition. His H/O numbers are deceiving and atm all he's capable to do is nullify opposition ruck which is unncessary against campbell. Currently a huge liability.
Fasolo's output wasnt there
Goldsack's did a few nice things late in the 4th quarter but was ineffective with his touches
Kennedy's decision making and execution were poor
Greenwood's stoppage work underwhelming
White was ok
Pendlebury ok
Swan good
Sidebottom good

Our team lacked class today, which does show the importance of players like Broomhead. Got smashed at the clearanes again, Adams is a much better than Greenwood on curent form.

It hasn't really been mentioned at all but Crisp is in some pretty ordinary form at the moment. Regularly kicking the ball out of the full and very rarely sighted against the dogs.

So I take it you mean he didn't play that well today?
Last week he was great.... so "pretty ordinary form at the moment" means he didn't dominate like he has been?

Campbell must be doing something his new coach likes then....cos he's keeping an AA ruckman in the twos?

At the moment. As in 1 game?? We can always count on you to bag a player and add to the negative vibe.

Not at all TD.

But so far that is all it is.

We, as supporters, as a board, as a whole this season have been, seduced into this false sense of greatness surrounding what is a promising group of young players. Grundy, Frost, Crisp, Moore, Broomhead, Elliot, Adams, Langdon, Seedsman, Witts to name a few have been pumped up as players they are not and never may be.
Moore may be the greatest forward to ever play the game, better than Carey, Lynch and Rocca put together....but you know what the real chances that will eventuate are......don't you.
Cloke is one of the best forwards in the game at the moment and will statistically be remembered as one of Collingwood's greatest.....

He has a Premiership medal.

This is incredibly rare for a Collingwood Forward.....

Will Moore get one?

I truly hope he gets a couple at least.

He won't if we trade him the first bad season he has.

Liking your posts today.
The reality is that we have some young players that may or not make it. We will have games where we go two steps forward then next game three step back.
Endeavour was there today but decision making and consequently skills were down.
Looking forward when we have a more settled team with a good mix of kids and senior players. Today was not one of them.

Plenty off positives yet we continue to be our own worst enemies by continually turning the ball over under pressure against the better teams.

No surprise with such a youthful side.

The benefit is that the losses will assist in exposing the weaknesses of those not up to standard.

Composure comes with games under the belt and experience, some of the players both young and old lacked in this area at times today and will either learn from the experience or fall by the wayside.

Good game, boys. Now its time for the easiest part of any coach's job: the cuts. Although I wasn't able to cut everyone I wanted to, I have cut a lot of you. Oxley is cut. Goldsack is cut. Fasolo, you're gone. Kennedy, I like your hustle. That's why it was so hard to cut you. Congratulations, the rest of you made the team! Except White, Witts and Toovey.

I know he's small so easy to miss but you forgot Blair.
