A weekend when the scab was ripped off and all our weakness and frailty has been exposed. Needs to be a watershed moment. We have a list that has most of its champs passed their use by dates and a crop of underwhelming kids.

Macrae looks somewhat interested. Nobody is there for him. There is no attempt to play a game plan lol.

Either Allan is injured or he's assessing his options.

AJ probably has given up which is kinder for everyone. There's a reason he was drafted and it wasn't for talent.

I would have thought AJ was drafted for his talent.
Application was/is the problem.
Both he and Allan have probably gone to WA assessing options this weekend…

This might not be the right thread for this but we need to overhaul the recruiting department imo. Keep making the same mistakes over and over. We’ve been crying out for young key position players for years and they keep recruiting flankers. Jake Riccardi goes to GWS at pick 51. We select Jay Rantall at 40 and Trent Bianco at 45 - both now delisted.
Could have selected Logan Morris last year. We select Harry DeMattia instead who has been underwhelming to put it mildly.
And whoever is responsible for trading needs to go. Trading Ginni for virtually nothing then bringing in Schultz for a first and second round pick is ridiculous. We keep trading out good players for peanuts then paying overs for recruits from other clubs.

Was hoping De Mattia would show something sooner as a possible small defender? How bad has he been? Is it lack of effort or footy IQ, something else?

I think his biggest weakness is he doesn’t position himself well when receive the ball. It’s leads him then awkward wheel around in his left foot and get a rushed kick off. The second weakness is he doesn’t have Daicos like agility to get out of trouble in those situations to get a good kick off.

Atm I think he’s shown he’s more likely a defender, he has decent spiking and marking ability but he’s mostly played on the wing.

And to think at the start of the season I thought our VFL team looked better then last years. One of their midfielders has 42 and 3 goals. How come we let their mids do whatever they like while our mids are struggling to get above 20.

Deeply disappointed with how the year has transpired.
Was excited this yr about the prospects of Macrae, Allan, Johnson,Reef, Steene (unfortunate), DeMattia, Ryan and Jiath.
Not sure if any can rise to the level required (still hope for Jiath).
Richards is the only player who has exceeded expectations to a degree.
Harrison signs also.
