Roast Post your favourite opposition bitterness about our three-peat

There's a Freo supporter on the Main Board who started a thread after the Prelim, saying that the overturned free kick in the first quarter was significant in that it broke Freo, and led to a run on for us that changed the whole game.

So the umpires changed the game 5 minutes into the first quarter.

#cheatinghawthorn
Was it the same one who has posted this tonight?

"The problem is it's hard for other teams to copy Hawthorn's chip, chip style because other teams actually get called to play on when they chip it 10 metres.

Any team would look awesome at chipping through a zone if they didn't have to play by the rules that the others have to."

There's some genuine whiny deadshits getting about on the main board.

I find it therapeutic getting in here and reading all the salty tears about our three peat.

"They play boring football"
"Their captain is a drunk driver"
"They make money from pokies"
"Their colours are poo and wee"
"The umpires protect them"
"They had to partially relocate to stay alive"
"They were just lucky the last three years have been diluted by GWS and GC"

I love the outrage and the pain it has caused. So many bitter, whiny posters, so pissed off with the world for allowing us to win 3 flags in a row.

It's beautiful.

The West Coast Game Day thread is interesting to say the least

Even the OP (though not to do with bitterness but I'll put it here anyway) says a lot, just happy to get further than Fremantle so "The West is ours"

[ALL year football media assured us that this is the Fremantle's year to lose.Premiership favourites from the get go, top of the ladder all season, minor premiers, home final. Looked a certainty.

West Coast, on the other hand. Unfancied. Unliked. Barely a hope in hell of even making the top 8, let alone getting anywhere in September.

A few months is a long time in football.

Despite both Western sides having strong seasons, finish first and second, it was West Coast who stood when push came to shove. The Purple horde falling to the might of the third placed Brown and Gold Hawks. The reigning premiers. No doubt a champion side who are tough to beat anywhere, anytime. A side full of stars who all play the game the way it should be played, a side who play to win, and win they do well.

The Derby grand final the media circus in WA so hoped wasn't to be. The magical unicorn escapes, the dream lives to fight another day. Instead, the two best attacking sides in the comp meet on the first Saturday in October.]

You forgot about playing interstate teams at the MCG and all of our free agents.

It's all because WE are the BEST and they are jealous! Imagine barracking for anyone else? YUK!

In the west coast game day thread, after the games over,
Someone posted the bio of stevic. Ha ha ha ha , yes of course stevic was the difference I tells ya

AFL Commission chairman Mike Fitzpatrick "Look they're [Hawthorn] not the Anzacs. In the end, age will weary them.

"And I think the sad thing, in some ways, has been that a couple of sides against them, particularly Freo and the Eagles, basically got stage fright and in no way played anywhere near as well as they could, which was disappointing."

AFL impartiality, forget the contest and improving the competition what we want is a controlled, manufactured result so we can keep everyone, except Hawk fans, happy. Where were these statements during Geelong's run ?

Is this legit? Where did you pull that from?
Absolute disgrace if true, but we've learned that that fckwit is a scumbag of the highest order this year.

It's legit. Was in one of the papers after the GF. I found it comforting that the AFL are not looking to legislate us out of contention but are content to let our team run it's course.

There were no statements to this effect on Geelong's run because Geelong's run was nowhere near as good as ours...

Until the draw is released, anyway.

Would winning premierships be as enjoyable if we didn't infuriate opposition fans and the AFL in the process? Not for me they wouldn't.
I like things just fine the way they are. Their tears confirm our superiority.

What about the Swans?? if you want to talk about stage-fright?
Freo did OK in comparison to the other two.

so Fitzpatrick agrees with big footy in that our victories are in some way illegitimate? You know, if a team doesn't bring their a game on the day the the premiership counts for less? **** them.

No estimate on Geelong? Or are they at all five levels combined?

Geelong are an even mix of the first three.
Geelong are delusional. 3 in 5 years is better than 3 in 3 years because... blah blah blah....
