Not sure about Bomber. Don't know if he's the right man for us. I like having recent players like Henry, Francou, Maxy, Shaw, Dew & Kirk all on board instead. Future proofing our coaching stocks (hopefully).

With a week off in between round 23 and week one of finals, I don't see why it's necessary to delay the announcement of round 23 match times and venues anyway.

Good point

Makes no real sense

"Guys, this whole round 23 thing, trying to work out who can play when so finals are fine is tough"
"Well, the AFLPA keep bitching at us to have a 2nd bye, why not have it after R23 before finals?"
"I guess but a week without footy could-"
"And we can put teams closer to the 8 at the time in better time slots to score more money!"
"But what about killing momentum for teams going into finals?"
"HERE COMES THE MONEY!!!!!"

Is how I think the conversation went down

That's pretty much exactly word for word how I'd have expected it to have gone mate. Maybe with an additional "is there a theme we can make the round to drag in more people?"

True only reason they are having the week off is because Norf wouldn't put a decent team out in the final round of the year in 2015.

Do they ever

Freo too. I went to that game .v. Port @ AO and it was shocking from memory. I felt really ripped off, the ticket prices weren't commiserate with the quality of footy I ended up getting.

Pressure from the betting agencies

So IF Boyd CAN take a pay cut (suggested by Darcy and Mooney) mid contract. Does this Buddy can do the same thing so we can manage our cap better when he's old or to recruit for the now
It would never happen, more hoping on their part than anything else. But we would create a lot of noise if this did somehow happen.

Was my same thought when I saw the article. If we have to have the cap hit in full for Buddy even if we don't pay him in full, then the Bulldogs are in the same boat with Boyd. That was an even dumber contract to give

Yep. But in all honesty, there are different rules for us. Always have been... you know that Robbie.

That Boyd deal was as ridiculous as the amount paid for Phil Davis or Tom Scully. Just a club paying on "potential" rather than "actual".

We get a bonafide superstar who has already dragged the club to 50k members, ensured sellout matches and won us games off his boot... Boyd, on the same amount of coin, has done sweet FA.

Just mapping out a run on google maps (yeah, I work out), and noticed that they've updated the Google Earth satellite photo to a recent one with the posts

There's a few different figures floating around, so there's your confirmation of the 155m.
I've also used this recently:
https://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-area-calculator-tool.htm

It allows you to trace the boundary line of the various grounds, and calculates the total area. More accurate that the general "area of an ellipse" formula because it allows for deep/shallow pockets and things like the dead-straight boundary line along the grandstand edge of Kardinia Park.

That's cool...

Current Area
16480.16 m² | 0.02 km² | 4.07 acres | 1.65 hectares | 177390.93 feet² | 0.01 square miles | 0.00 square nautical miles
Current Perimeter
459.594m OR 1507.854feet

Is what I get... Pretty rough clicking though...
