The King!
Chosen One
Buddy and Tippett both turning 30 next year
That went quick imo
Buddy feels like hes been playing for yonks
Tippett not so much
Even though the list is young those keys are getting through their peak, we need to win

Me too, have been thinking of investing in one of the old Heritage V guernseys. Was cruising through looking at the history of our clubs geurnsey (as you do), still like the 2010 away. Love that red V.

I saw the other day they have the woollen sleeveless one with the red collar in the swans shop. Looks fantastic. Slightly too much to justify the purchase though, especially when every time i buy something white it's ruined in a few minutes of wearing haha.Me too, have been thinking of investing in one of the old Heritage V guernseys.

Yes, he's a boffin https://au.linkedin.com/in/aatalbotanybody know who the young man is in the coaching box quite often two seats away from horse? couldnt find him on swans website - perhaps a stats guy?
no not brett kirk or john blakey or dew.
just curious.
That's a dose of reality right there. lol convinced myself they'd be around forever...... Buddy's contract will but not necessarily buddy himself!!! lolDamn, you'd have to say we'd need to win at least one by 2018, preferably 2.
Anyone know if Buddy's contract was front or back loaded? or even just pretty even throughout? I thought I remembered it being back loaded. Which seems bad, but if the salary cap increases it might not hurt us too much.
Backloaded to take into account any cap increases. I think it goes to 1.2 if it isn't already. Not sure if it goes up from there though.
Edit

Goes to 1.5 for a few years then down to 1 mill in his final season.
Ouch
Pretty smart contract work by the Swans. The cap rises around 10% next season and will continue to rise over the coming years that Buddy is already contracted. In dollar terms the deal has already repaid itself multiple times, so if we can add a flag during those years then it'll be considered a huge success.
10% is only the "expected" figure for next season (i.e. a journo guessed 10%). The new TV deal will get finalised and the cap will rise substantially over the next five years.I believe that when the Buddy deal was finalised, they expected this rise to be between 16-18%...10% is far too low given how much the TV rights deal is going to go up...the AFLPA need new negotiators.
Desperation is a stinky cologne...How the heck Boyd is getting the same money as Buddy is one of life's little mysteries.
You could equally have said that Boyd in his prime at 25 will be getting paid half a million dollars less than a 35yo Franklin, but I guess that doesn't suit the argument as muchHow the heck Boyd is getting the same money as Buddy is one of life's little mysteries.
