Yep, completely understand an educational perspective. And I’m not really concerned about it.

But considering the strange decisions that the club has made in the last 12-18 months, I’m not sure they get a benefit of the doubt in my eyes that the person in charged of conditioning the entire playing group isn’t at day 1 of pre season. Especially when apparently the shortened off season and early schedule gave us problems last season
But we don't have a shortened off season with an early schedule this year...

Wade & JDG are due back on November 25 when the full squad returns.

This didn’t age well

No. I saw this little river on his insta that looked very similar to one at one of the hotels in Vegas.
But never been to doha so assumed. Hopefully he can get his injuries right.

Which is perfectly reasonable, of course.
A good break, then world-class treatment & learning, followed by an on-time return for senior players.

I guess we have different priorities. I'd be kicking over every rock to get better rather than heading on holidays and dealing with it when I got back.

Strange reading some of these comments about De Geoy. Clearly, unless you are a sports physio with intimate knowledge of his specific injury and history, you are not qualified to comment on when he should be back at training!

I am glad the club is investing the time and resource to maximise his chances of returning to full health next year. Let's put some trust in our staff and ease off the negativity.

He's entitled to have his break like everyone else. He's still technically on his break whilst attending this clinic working on a program designed specifically for him.

Nowhere does it suggest he hasn't been dealing with his groin issues in other ways during the off season.

He will be back when he was required on November 25.

You're (we're) just guessing at the realities.

Maybe the initial post-season period before going to the clinic was part of the plan.

begs the question why didn't he get himself right before mid November?
Of course this facility was just twiddling their thumbs waiting by the phone…
“When will Jordy call?” “When, when?”.
You seem to think that a call can be made and the caller simply state “we will be there tomorrow”.
Wouldn’t be much of a facility if that was the case.

Can think of couple of reasons.
1) the first plan of attack would have been to just rest, and see how the body reacts.
Obviously it seems like it hasn't done the trick.
2) they would have spent a lot of time getting opinions from various specialists around australia and around the world ( can be time consuming even for a top level sports organisation)
3) they would have spent time deciding which specialists treatment plan they were ultimately going to follow .
4)getting a treatment block scheduled with a world renowned specialist can be tricky, november may well have been the first available slot.

I would have had him to Germany and back by now, with his groin full of ox blood or whatever it is.
