Jen2310 can probably provide you with that answer. I'm not at training. Are they prepping him as a tall or is he joining Ryan, TJ and Oleg as someone in line for a general defensive role?
Some sort of intercept role I would imagine. I can't see him as a lock down type, however, I didn't think Murphy would be able to play his role eitherAre they prepping him as a tall or is he joining Ryan, TJ and Oleg as someone in the queue for a general defensive role?

Can think of couple of reasons.
1) the first plan of attack would have been to just rest, and see how the body reacts.
Obviously it seems like it hasn't done the trick.
2) they would have spent a lot of time getting opinions from various specialists around australia and around the world ( can be time consuming even for a top level sports organisation)
3) they would have spent time deciding which specialists treatment plan they were ultimately going to follow .
4)getting a treatment block scheduled with a world renowned specialist can be tricky, november may well have been the first available slot.
I reckon he could follow a similar path to Josh Battle (fingers crossed), both started as forwards and moved back and both have similar heights, builds and athleticism. Some sort of intercept role I would imagine. Now that would be exciting. Hopefully he can do itI reckon he could follow a similar path to Josh Battle (fingers crossed), both started as forwards and moved back and both have similar heights, builds and athleticism.
Why are you anxious about him still getting treatment in November when our first game is in March?
The players' post-season time off is guaranteed in the CBA - You can't make them go on a trip to Doha for rehab during a rest period.
This trip isn't for surgery to correct an issue that's been getting worse. It's about treatment and planning on an ongoing basis, and so it happens when the post-season time off has concluded.
Or they were waiting to see if it hung around after the season before making the call.

Shauble was ok wasn't he? Or is my memory stuffed?Twiggy Dunne and Luke Ball as well. Also been a bit of a bust with players like Shaz, Shannon Cox, Schauble, and Jason McCartney
You are also judging a course of action without knowledge of the surrounding circumstances.Vinnie, I never kick a can down the road if I can avoid it. they've had plenty of time to avoid it.
he's flying half way around the world for treatment so I don't think this is a simple issue. everyone knows you chase your tail all year if you miss chunks of preseason and he has no wiggle room now.
My point is we've had 2 months since the last game and its now eating into preseason when it didn't need to. fingers crossed they sort it out.
It’s not eating into preseason - he isn’t due back yetVinnie, I never kick a can down the road if I can avoid it. they've had plenty of time to avoid it.

I was in-line with Twiggy's kick that drew the 77 GF, great moment shared with my brother and my now deceased Father.Twiggy Dunne and Luke Ball as well. Also been a bit of a bust with players like Shaz, Shannon Cox, Schauble, and Jason McCartney

to a degree I can see merit in point 1.
however the others should've been done in August at the latest when a plan B should've been developed. the lack of planning for an elite organization should be questioned.
I will be very pleasantly surprised if he doesn't have an interrupted pre season and start 2025 behind the 8 ball.
