I'd say it's good news. Sounds like it's progressed and Doha has ticked off the stripper stage of his groin management.
You know what they call out in Arabic strip clubs?

“Show us ya face, show us ya face!”

Pre-season training:
Week 4. Session #3

Lighter session this morning, probably makes sense given there is an extra session this week. Saturday.
And it did looked like loads were being managed.

At first I thought there was gonna be a smaller group this morning as only about 20 of them were outside in black, and then about 10 mins later a bunch others in white jumpers came onto the track and began to warm up separately. Not really sure what the point of this was.
After 30-45 mins, those in black mostly went inside and all there was left were those in the white. Assuming this was a load thing.
They did have a big session on the track on Tuesday.

It was more of a skills and fundamentals session working through turnovers, ground balls, line group specific drills.

Jordy was out and did a couple running sessions, was nice to see but seemed to be going very slowly.

Others were in rehab group
WHE - He did leave the track on Tuesday, so maybe a little niggle. He just did a running session
Cochran - Did some agility and running as he recovers from a thumb fracture
Maynard - I think this was more management with load

Call me crazy, but it looks to me like he he could be working on changing his running style. He is running with a different gait.
You'd expect his running style would be one of the things addressed as part of his specialised program from Doha. Definitely looks a lot leaner, that's for sure 👌

Might have been a drill to get something like more core activation. Not so much changing his running style but developing more strength.

You are crazy.

Yeah, I imagine he's got a very specific program to balance his hip & groin muscle strength & length, with a controlled running style to assist in the work.

At some point, once he gets the 'go signal', he'll just go back to training & playing normally on the ground, presumably with some kind of maintenance program inside.

You just can't change the way you run on the field in game conditions.

I think Ed Allan is one of the key figures behind potential top 4 success in 2025
Not saying he is our best player or anything, but if he has a breakout year, the point of difference he can offer our midfield with his speed and size would be extremely valuable

Most of the vfl season he struggled to have any real impact, finished the year strongly but people are hyping him a huge amount.

What’s his disposal like? Is he more of an outside mid or winger?
I'm not the person to ask. No idea. but I think the question is more what's he like in traffic? If they're good in traffic, they play mid. If not good in traffic they can play on the outside if they're good enough runners with good enough disposal. But at 18, they're all thinking mid.

About 2/3’s through the vfl season his form started to improve markedly. It hadn’t been particularly spectacular until then. His last few games in the VFL were all quite impactful, with one game kicking a goal from the center (admiteddly had some ass but was still pretty impressive).

Is training as normal next week (Tuesday and Friday main?)

Thinking of going down but unsure of days due to tomorrow’s open session. Thanks

If a coach ever tries to get a late 20s athlete to change their running style, the change they should make is to another coach.
