Obviously not ideal, but I think we will see Sheldrick explode as a result. I’m excited about the exposure he’s going to get in the middle.

So Parks' injury brings the number of injuries to 3 (or 4?)

Mills
Francis - TBC, but reported by L McKirdy as a "slight setback"

Not sure about Arnold, but didn't play in either game last Thursday

Im guessing you're saying 'let him off the chain'??
If so, completely disagree. Hes playing a role. His role allows more explosive players to play more explosive roles. He finished very well in the B&F again, broke the Swans record for tackles. Hes just be named the most underrated player by his team mates.
Rowbottom is doing very well in the job he's got now.

Parker out - Sheldrick in.. Let Gus attack the ball and rack up clearances.

Horse is loyal and generally conservative. I think the team he picks R1 will be:
B Cunningham Melican or Roberts Rampe
HB Blakey McCartin Lloyd
C Gulden Warner Campbell
HF Hayward Mclean Heeney
F Papley McDonald Wicks
Foll Grundy Adams Rowbottom
Int Amartey McInerney Florent Jordan or Sheldrick

I think it's not a given Sheldrick comes in for Parker and would not surprise me at all if Horse goes for Jordan given he has many inside options. Heeney for example attended 50% CB and Jordan, Gulden and Paps can all play inside too.

Other decision is taller (Melican) v smaller (Roberts) backline. Given everything said in the preseason, coupled with team selections last Thursday, i think if Roberts plays well v Lions, Horse will go with him.

The other way he could make room for some / all of Melican, Roberts, Sheldrick and Jordan is leave Cunningham and / or Wicks out but suspect this would be unlikely.

One guy who I reckon didn't get enough of a wrap last week was Will Hayward.

We talked a lot about how it was a pre-season game, result not important, not all guys were going at 100% etc etc.

But we also talked a lot about how Hayward needed to improve, his spot wasn't assured etc etc.

He did absolutely everything he needed to do in his role, so good on him.

Will concur on that

Yeah I was really impressed with him. He did drop in the second half but it's preseason, looks ready to smash things open

Yes he played well. Maybe the Ltd prep he had affected his drop off in the second half.

That said, imo he really needs a good year for the Club and his future there.

Could get a bit of late arvo/early evening wild storms if it's a scorcher? It's felt pretty humid in sydney this summer.
Living in Wollongong and Sydney the whole of my life, I've never known a more humid summer on such a consistent basis. So gross and uncomfortable.

Just me or others who have lived here a while feel summer's used to more of a drier heat years ago? Feels more and more "tropical" all the time.
