Stoppage clearances are going to be crucial. Norf spanked us in that area in Tassie.

I thought we set up for stoppages really poorly in that game and paid the price when the game was on the line. Hopefully we have learned a bit since then.

Not wasting a dominant quarter by kicking 4.7 would be handy too!

Good half a preview so far Keyser Soze

They keep harping on about our "undersized defence" on the NM board.
However, only one match up, Sheppard v whoever will be undersized and he has done great jobs on better forwards than Petrie or Brown.
And, save for when we commit an horrendous turnover in the midfield or off half-back, Sheppard rarely has to contest one-on-one's against his opponent. When he does he is (like most I'd suspect) most vulnerable when he doesn't get a good run at the contest from behind ie. when the ball is kicked over the back.

Height match ups are quite close with North and it will be interesting to see if they fall into the trap of playing too tall and not having the leg speed. Tarrant out against Sydney was probably a help for them.
They line up in height pretty closely to us and expect Yeo to be a player when we need 3 talls down back.

Hutchings didn't play in that game, and Sheed was wearing the green vest for three quarters.

Those 2 starting is a massive improvement in our stoppage structures right there.

None of these yet..

Going to be an extremely unproductive week at work. Much more important things to be done, like reading every West Coast vs North Melb. related article known to man!

Need to exploit their big forwards with our rebound. Petrie is nursing that knee, Brown obviously isn't the most mobile guy to start with and Jarrod Waite is...well...Jarrod Waite.

On the flip side, if they start clunking marks we are in trouble.

Waite has been excellent at that this finals series, same with Petrie. Brown has dropped a few.

Exactly...Waite is very much a confidence player. Whoever plays on him needs to stick to him like glue and spoil anything that comes near them, get the ball to ground and rebound it out of there.

I feel that North line up really well against us. We need to start strongly and kick straight early to ensure the crowd stays up and about - same as the QF really.

I reckon this is more of a 50/50 game than we are giving Nth credit for.

The tagging is what worries me the most.

In Sheppingham we trust.

What ever happens this weekend, it has been an amazing season. I too are part of the group who thought season was in trouble when Mitch went down in the 1st round. So much so that the wife and i decided to book an overseas trip for this time of the year thinking we were not a chance for the last game. Now we are one game away from the big dance and i'll have to settle for watching it New York, because i think we'll get it done this weekend, Kangas were not that impressive on Saturday against an undermanned Swans. They won't get midfield service this week like they did Saturday, Nic will make sure of that. Not sure their back line is good as they think, our talls are mobile and will work them over.

Let's hope the are switched on from 1st bounce.
