I wonder will the VAFA be represented by Collegians in next year's pre-season Boags Lightning Premiership featuring the teams that won the premiership in the various comps at metro & country levels around Victoria?

I hope so, Jascave. Xavs didn't have the balls to do it in '10 so I hope Collegians show a bit of ammo spirit and front up.

Yes but why fixture the game in March instead of the bye weekend in July.

And also why play it at Bayswater instead of Elsternwick Park? After all, the EFL hosted the VAFA-EFL game last time, so surely it should be the VAFA's turn?

Better facilities at Bayswater when compared with Elsternwick Park. It's too embarassing to host representative games at Elsternwick Park. Bayswater is the host venue for the EFL first division finals. Also, the game is more likely to be better supported by the EFL faithful when compared with the VAFA support.

jubliee park in ringwood is better.

Probably because in the pre-season all the good players are happy to play. The ammo's team that beat the EFL last time was heaps better than the team that played mid year when blokes get bit sore. And I'd suggest its out in Baysie because EFL people tend to go to their footy so if it was at EP then the charity they raise money for might be short changed.

XAVS WELCOME BACK TWO: The Red and Blacks have appointed premiership players Travis Ruyg and David Landrigan as assistant coaches.

OX's coaching box will be bigger than the changerooms at EP!!

Not even in the same ball park.
Jubilee Park is ridiculously large & holds no atmosphere, Bayswater is far superior & 99.9% from the EFL would agree.

The game is good news but as mentioned why have it in March? No form to go on, impossible to make a call on new recruits to either competition, etc, creates a feeling that the game is exhibition rather than a serious hitout IMO.

Yep the players prefer to play interleague preseason.

And Bobby Beecroft is right, Bayswater is a better venue then Ringwood.

Hopefully another good crowd shows up & we see another quality game. Different result would be nice though :p

Not sure to many VAFA fans will head too Bayswater, where the hell is that anyway, somewhere near Loy Yang power station?
I good opportunity for players to get injured IMO, to early for rep stuff.

Doubt I will be making the trek from Werribee, but I think that Bayswater is still well inside the boundaries of our flourishing VAFA catchment which extends as far east as St Francis-Xavier in Beaconsfield, Yarra Valley in Park Orchards and Mt Lilydale in....well I guess Lilydale?

I'd rather go there than VAFA HQ to watch a game if it means a better ground, bigger crowd and better conditions for footy.

PS - Brian, your computer spelling/grammar check must've been asleep at 2.10am this morning. ;)

Grum, the only thing wrong with the iPhone4 is it doesn't know how to spell! It changes words like horse to torso etc….look forward to having a beer with you this year, great effort from your lads.
