St.Bedes v Xavs - St Bedes are in trouble and this wont help.
Old Scotch v Caulfield - I would love to pick the Fields for the first win but Ando & Stewie wont allow the Cardinals to take this too easy.
Old Carey v Collegians - The Lions roll on.
St Bernards v Uni Blues - Bernies at home just.
De La Salle v Trinity - De La easily.
How much affect will the VFL bye have? Some clubs have more VFL than others. A couple have half a dozen who could walk into their starting sides. This could make a big difference.

Xavs, though not by as much as some think due to above!
OS though closer than expected as Caulfield will be able to draw on a couple of handy VFL
Collegians, see above re Caulfield, Carey could be strengthened by several VFL players. Will we see Adem Yze?
Blues easily even at the snakepit. Blues too intense for the snowdogs

OX (easily)
Scotch (easily)
Collegians (easily)
Uni (easily)
De La (easily)

If with the potential 70mm to fall in the next 48 hours I can't see any upsets this weekend

Ahh but rain increases the chance of upsets. Throw in the VFL bye and I would bet on at least one. I don't know which one so have the same tips as you and everyone else. St Bedes and Carey should both profit from VFL and are at home whilst the dogs play the pit well. Those three would be most likely if it going to happen

Collegians, DLS and Xavs simply too good for their opponents and just think that both uni and scotch will be looking at their games as 'must wins'. Especially uni who are a far better team than potentially 2 win 4 loss

St.Bedes v Xavs
Scotchies v Caulfield
Carey v Collegians (reality kicks in)
Bernies v Blues (tossed a coin)
De La v Trinity

XAVS by lots
OLD SCOTCH Going ok
OLD CAREY Can't tip against, talls not so important in wet
BLUES Hate to say
DE LA Going ok

Panthers oh so close. Going to do a lot of damage when best side in. Collegians missing Taft and Sautner but Panthers missing plenty. But as they say, thats footy.

Taft, Sautner, Dixon and Ferguson missing from the Lion's forward line alone from what I could see. No wonder they didn't kick straight. It's a credit to the Lion's depth that they won with the number of outs they had.

Did Collingwood not allow Jack Hellier to play for bedes on saturday?

The fact they had less than half a dozen non-AFL players in the side suggests St Bedes won't see him again.

Any big names from any clubs not pulled on the boots yet? And if so when can we expect to see them?

Think you will find that a lot of VFL/TAC teams wanted their interchange players to have a break this week....that said Sam Williams played for De La

You're right. Most VFL players were instructed to rest last weekend and were not released to local clubs. Clubs may have had 1, but most were not available.

Old Carey only had one player released (Easton) out of a possible 4-5, Collegians only had 1 released (Johnson) out of a possible 3-4. I believe that DLS only had 1 released (Williams) out of 4-5. Most clubs were in the same boat.
