Big statement this one. On what do you base this? Not disputing your greater knowledge of the Bernies but the only really wet day we have had this season was round 3 and they got belted by Carey.

Good call Rooster. Good test for your boys this weekend against the "best wet weather team" in the comp with a scary 0-1 wet weather record this year. Not saying Bernies cant win against the bell boys. Xavs v Collegians will be a blockbuster can not wait to watch a decent game this Saturday!

I would definately call, the eight goal win against uni blues wet conditions
As well as the 50 point win at sportscover arena on sunday in rather wet conditions..
Granted neither of these sides are having terrific years, i still rate st bernards ability to win contested football in the wet, as good as any other in the competition, if not better when they play at the snakepit. But your right Rooster DeLa are definately a quality football side, both teams have alot of starting players out of there lineups, looking forward to a tightly contested game of football.

St Bedes/Mentone v Caulfield - too much at home
Old Scotch v Old Carey - beginning to look very settled and confident
Collegians v Old Xavs - this time only
Uni Blues v Old Trinity - been in too many relegation games to not win it
St Bernards v De La Salle - most effective rebounding side to beat the wet weather specialists

Cheers Sticky – Did not actually make any reference to De La being a quality side, in the wet or otherwise. Just that my assessment is that we have only really had one wet weather footy day this year. Granted last weekend was not played in perfect conditions however it was not particularly wet. Sportcover in pretty good nick all things considered. Bernies playing good footy at the moment and will be hard to beat, especially at the pit but to be honest I think the best wet weather team in the comp is a big call. Xavs and Colls clearly the 2 best teams in any conditions for mine. If you have seen our home ground you would appreciate that we probably get more exposure to horrible conditions than most other clubs.

I'll have these

Very solid win by the Snowdogs today in heavy conditions.

Yes Bernies very good today. Looked very hungry and deserved the win. 7 goals to 1 after 20 minutes and game pretty much over. Merrington a real handful catching everything.

Apart from the middle the ground was in good nick and conditions pretty good really. De La very poor but still only went down by 16 points after giving away a big start. D’s just going at the moment and need to get back on track quick smart.

Nail biter at Camberwell today, doubt there was more than 9 points in it at any time. Costly misses by both sides. 3rd quarter a classic battle of the half back lines. An undermanned Panthers got over the line by 5 points.
The "ring in" did alright in the last quarter too!!!

Nice to have a bit of discussion in the forum otherwise we just have a tipping competition!!!! Must admit l learnt a bit about the old school this week which is a bit worrying but l am told this is the norm in a lot of schools. Open up lads, don't be afraid to support your team and tell it like it is. Go Panthers.

Firstly, this forum has become exactly that...a tipping comp which I could have signed up for at work. Can we please get some discussion going on from all supporters? I follow VAFA in general and saw collegians on weekend who were Pretty average to say the least Unfortunately for them Sautner would have made no difference to the score as too the other outs which will be an excuse I'm sure. Xavs controlled the game from halfway thru the second and never looked back. On another note, seems the umpiring standards have not got any better especially the tall dark headed bloke.

And is there anyn danger in hearing from Uni and scotch supporters? I'm also confused with the new look of this site and if things don't pick up (banter), I'm outta here even though I post here and there.

Exactly right Shawthing22. Scotchies don't say much....well they weren't on Saturday anyway!!!!
Results on the weekend meant the 4 is not settled just yet, nor is the relegation zone. It would have been bad if OS beat OC and De La beat Bernies then the 4 could have been just about settled but we all live to fight another day.

CD whats goin on with reid?
is he playing this year?

any woodrow faves or smokies?

The section at the half way mark looks to be made up of 4 groups:

Will Play finals - Xavs, Coll
Could play finals - wont be relegated - DLS, OS, StBern, Carey
Fighting to avoid relegation - Uni, Trinity, St Bedes
Playing B next year - Caul.

My odds for flag
Xavs 1.90
Coll 2.60
DLS 5.50
Scotch 25.00
Carey and St B 35.00

If ML means Reid from Carey, i saw him on crutches witha bandage on the knee. So im guessing he's out for the year with a bung knee.

Hi Guys, So im boots/big booth (triple m) from Chadstone(div 4). Just wondering if possible you guys could all jump onto the wild turkey pageon Facebook http://www.facebook.com/wildturkeyau?sk=app_305901486159865 The goal for the club is to have the most Registered fans of the club. If we manage to be top of the ladder at the end of the season we win $10,000 cash! The club has been down and out for far to long. If you can help out by registering that would go a hell of a long way. Thanks for the support in advance!

Not sure if Reid is gone for the season. Might be back for the last few if things go well.

Can't find a lot wrong with your odds, Occy but if I was framing the market I'd have DLS and Scotchies both around 10.00 to 15.00. Might suck in a few 'diehards'!! ;)

Carey- Outlass St Bedes, 6-8 goals
Bernards- To string together three in a row in a tight contest. less than 2 goals
Collegians- 5+ goals, class outfit.
Xavs- Get one back over scotchies, in the return fixture, 4-6 goals
Caulfield- to notch their first win of the season

Goodluck to all teams, looking forward to another cracking week of A section footy.

Carey v SBMT
Trinity v Bernies
DLS v Collegians
Xavs v Scotchies
Caulfield v Blues

Old Carey v SBMT Must win
Old Trinity v Bernies At home, Bernies been having a good run, and Panthers need it
DLS v Collegians Collegians to bounce bac. Too good to lose 2 in a row
Xavs v Scotch Because Panthers need OS to lose
Caulfield v Blues Been getting closer to a win, this week is it
