Dude, have you seen the list? US Dream team basketballers would be slightly intimidated running out against them.

Big names on lists are handy but in the depths of winter and late in September it comes down to who actually wants to be there... I've seen it all before... Felt like yesterday (2005) when SKOB were shooting their mouths off about the huge recruits of Steve McKee, Simon Garlick and Williams... They got relegated that year...

Not sure anyone from SKOB except for BS has been shooting off their mouth. You were obviously in a rush and shot off your mouth before you had the chance to think.

BS is not shooting off his mouth. He's got them outside the top 4.
Is it just me, or are Melb, Carey, Wesley and Blacks the biggest locks for bottom 4 in the history of bottom 4 locks?

It might just be that nobody from those clubs post on the Bigfooty forum... From what i have heard Old Carey are very close to landing 3 ex-port melb players. Collegians apparently have 4-5 very good VFL players still yet to sign with their respective VFL Clubs... I've heard nothing from OM's and Blacks still not sure but they are a proud Club with some older competitive heads still there. The same blokes that put them back in the hunt from mid way through last year after being 0 from 5 early...

It's a definite 'haves/have nots' type of season this upcoming season. A clear divide between the top group and the bottom group.

Carey might be 'close' to landing 3 ex-port players, but that still won't close the gap to losing Howat, Rowe, Freemantle and Mcqueen-Miscamble, so yes they are in trouble. Collegians have a few rumours floating around, but they do every year and not much ever seems to eventuate, unless it's 'old boys' returning. Will Johnson the only one of these confirmed so far, coming back from Box Hill hawks. Blacks have lost Lacey, O'Rourke, Willingham and Pattison at least, with not too many names confirmed coming on as yet. OM's probably have Freezer returning (but with Essendon's situation at the moment who knows), and did laud Matt Thomas coming on board but that is now not likely to happen. On what we know, these teams certainly seem to be bottom 4. I have a feeling that Trinity may challenge this group. I've only heard the rumoured Outs at this stage (Hunt, Hamilton, Steinhart) and nothing coming in.

Uni Blues seem to have recruited well but have lost a couple of big names (do we know if Summers has retired yet?). Still shouldn't fall away considering their depth and usual new talent that walks through the door, including their latest 'signing' as mentioned above by FF. DLS have the usual 'gained a few, lost a few', but names like Pickett, Rayson, Keely and Williams are all quality Ins.

St Bernards have also lost some big names in Merrington, Jones, Gleeson and most likely Simon and Michael Caven, but they do tend to have a slicker recruiting team than most so shouldn't fall out of the four. Has Boyse gone as well?

Then of course Xavs and St Kevins. The two clear standouts of the off-season so far. It seems like the only thing that can trip these two teams up from being at the pointy end will be the points system playing havoc with team balance (j/k)

Not much is being said here, (only the foolish really stick their neck out as it is generally chopped off when a prediction doesn't not hold up) however across wider football circles and in the ‘leafy’ suburbs believe me there is plenty being said and most it revolves around SKOBs being unstoppable!

I know BS has been there through thick and thin but plenty of other St Kevins folk are well and truly coming out of the woodwork and declaring them as dead set certainties!

What’s everyone's expectations of Uni Blues in 2016?

Hearing 1 or 2 other key handy players from the outside Vic are holding on their decision to committing to them to get a better gauge after training for a few weeks?

Blues always put together a strong list. 2013 was an aberration and any other year (7 wins I think) they would have survived.

A lot will depend on whether Ross Young goes around again. Was a huge addition to their team last year and probably the best player in the comp. Piers Flanagan is another who on his day is a real handful. Carries it 20 and kicks it 60. The bloke who did his knee in the pre-season (sorry name escapes me) who kicked bags of goals in B grade in 2014 also returns. They will be thereabouts I expect. Although universally disliked, and for good reason minds you, Jack Watts will be a huge loss. Blokes his sizes that are so versatile are bloody hard to replace.

A bit of new on St Bernards here, which suggests they are quite bullish about the coming season. No mention of Jones retiring although I m quite sure he has pulled the pin.

Jamar to Essendon.....

Recruits
I normally don’t acknowledge a recruit until round 1 but the way Mark Jamar has bought into the club is outstanding, already knee deep into preseason. He will be a great asset to the side and Club, not only from a playing perspective but in a mentoring role for our young talls.

Welcome to SKOB 'Russian'.

You said it Prez...

Correct. Unsighted at De La since last year and their view was that St Bedes always had the inside running. Apparently found the level and intensity of training difficult to the point that he had second thoughts about his ability to compete at that standard. Certainly has the talent but there is only one way to find out if you are able to compete in ‘A’ grade and that's to have a crack. Disappointing but seems his preference is to reamin in B grade.

Im lead to believe VFL clubs a

Have to agree. Watched Cowan in the rep games last year- lacked work rate. sublime skills. but im sure he would slot into any A grade forward line / pinch hit onball. my mail is St Bedes or Frankston VFL. Terrible loss for the nodder, i see Dan and Jason Kelly have left with their brother Heath Black for Narre Warren. Nodders could be tested for depth.

Another twist to the Cowan saga. A rumour doing the rounds is that he was spotted recently at T.H King. Surely not? Had previously given a commitment to both De La and St Bedes and also entertained advances from at least 2 other Premier clubs and now it seems Frankston.

Is this lad getting a bit ahead of himself? Would like to see how he fares on Nick Wynne, Tom Humphrey, Will Tardiff, the Caven brothers or other top notch ‘A’ grade defenders before he shops himself around.
