Premier B - 2015

Ask those in the MPNFL how well it's worked SF.

My understanding is the points system would be structured so that old boys playing at their junior/school club attract substantially fewer points then a ‘random’ signing who has no such ties. Without knowing the actual points configuration a Luke Ball, playing at Xavs might for example attract 1 point while a Gilham at SKOBs might be 5.

I don’t believe there is any intention of having it introduced in the VAFA anyway.

Agree with the last para.

My point re the MPNFL was the system was designed at least in large part to even-up the competition. For whatever reasons it has failed to achieve that.

It needs to be right across all comps to make it work

It they cant even wont work..........wont even be tried. The VAFA are so incompetent............

Example : Coll v OS Semi tomorrow at Craigeburn!!!!!!!!......WTF. They have had 12 months notice to source grounds
and this is the best they can do.

Where is Craigeburn??????

Which semi final would be more appealing to watch-the first semi final, Old Melburnians v Old Brighton (Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham); or the 2nd semi, St Kevins v St Bedes Mentone Tigers (Sportscover Arena, Elsternwick)?

I'm not a fan of Sportcover Arena so definitely the one at Trevor Barker.

Trevor Barker, Purely because of the facoilities. Although I think SKOBS and Bedes to be a better game.

You dont know what they will serve up at S Arena.

You need to broaden your horizons a little. Highgate Reserve is an outstanding venue. Home to Calder Cannons and an oval of MCG proportions. Fantastic facilities. Better than any alternative venue being used by VAFA this weekend. Scotch and Collegians will enjoy playing their.

Just hope there's not much wind otherwise it's not such a good venue.

Gee, it's quiet in here, sorry to ruin everyone's day, 19-0.
See you on the Premier thread.

 You can thank Whitefriars College for providing your "old boys" with your best on ground in ex-AFL premiership player Stephen Gilham.

Oh and Yarra Valley for Jordan Gysberts....

The list goes on...

And St Francis Xavier for the Salopeks.....However well did to SKOBs. If you have been copping it for 10 years you can’t blame them for being a little bit smug tonight. There will be a decent celebration in a fortnight you might think.

Great effort by St Bedes. A team devoid of superstars really put a scare through the SKOBs camp when the drew to within 4 point in the last and then a few chances to hit the lead. They look the only team anywhere near capable of causing an upset.

Happy to see them in the top grade. Just a short stroll from the Bell to T.H King for us.

Brizza I'm happy for SKOB. Whilst I like gagging about the choke, I actually want as many APS teams in A Grade as poss. I'd love one day for their to be all of us. Just need OGGS to lift and Hail and Caul to move back up. APS rivalries is where it's at for me.

Very good team St Bedes, they had 13 from their A Grade GF two years ago plus Tyquin and Mangoni from the VFL last year. Don't under rate them, 14 wins for the year is a great effort.
Should be a great game next week.

Briza,
The side SKOB rolled out today would beat a Xavier or Carey. The fact STBM were so close means they would be very competitive against them too.

17 out of 22 SKC boys, why would Gilly play for a club that doesn't even have hot water? Stick to your D whatever it is thread you are in before you bag a team that's gone 19-0.

I didn't bag the team Brian. Just pointed out that there's a few high profile "ring ins" who have made SKOB into the newest Premier club.

You are the BF equivalent of Donald Trump. The absence of your condescending posts since you got smacked into silence has made season 2015 enjoyable for myself (and I suspect many other posters).

Don't get sucked-in by the multi aliased Brian. He gets very touchy regarding the players his club recruits. Very touchy. Unlike anyone from any other club in fact.

Like the reference to Trump. Both are belligerent but Trump trumps the multi aliased one for brains.;)

You must be in denial about the two ‘A’ grade finals tomorrow then Canada. A couple of second class Catholics from the ACC system, an AGSV school and a Uni club. Not all bad though. Xavs and Carey finished an honorable 6th and 7th;)

Caulfield and Haileybury? Spare me.
