Interesting about Dunell. I read on their social media pages that full back Oscar Hosking who did his ACL late in the season has also retired. They have picked up a couple of players though, so swings and roundabouts there.

Most sides will be on the track now just prior to Christmas I'd imagine. April will roll around quite quickly!

The AFL are good at doing that. They love to list the NAB league team first, then the school and then the junior club (the one that usually put the most time into them) last. Sometimes, the junior club gets left off the list altogether.

It all goes back to when the then-TAC Cup stated and for many years, the AFL would only refer to the TAC Cup club.

Wesley beat them this year!

Of the four Wesley boys, I believe only one was on a scholarship.

A great effort by the school, with a record haul of draftees taken in the national draft, 2011 had 4 but a couple were taken in the rookie draft.
I believe all four were scholarship boys Mr Olotripo, just like your athletics team. But who cares? Embrace the success, it's been a long time coming for Prahran High School :)

I'm hearing the VAFA H/O are considering a small 'salary cap' for those clubs who don't have access to scholarships to provide a little more equity in player retention / recruitment within the competition.

No hang on .... it was more/higher number of player points to those clubs disadvantaged ....

No hang on ..... sorry I got that wrong. There was nothing discussed about any sort of progressive thinking around the ever increasing inequity within the competition in any recent discussions ... just more of the same 😝

They already road tested additional points in 2019.

In what capacity?
How did the test work?
What were they trying to achieve?

I would be genuinely interested to understand more about this as I was involved at our club that year and did not know about any such trial.

You definitely didn’t know about it. Nobody did except those in the pilot program. Worked out well for them though.
