The word around the traps is that Mr Payne is finished with footy and is now focussing on his job at Hawthorn.

Have also heard that Uni Blacks have lost a heap of top end talent with not a lot coming in.

The mighty Lions have had some of their older lads commit to a red hot crack as well, one being the great Mr Ferguson.

Old Scotch’s president, Mr Strange, is telling all and sundry that the Scotchies will break their 45 year premiership drought. With their points being similar to Uni Blues, they would certainly want to be up there!

Over at Old Xaverians, news of Mr Robinson’s departure may have been premature. Add in Mr Gowers and some fresh under 19 talent, and all of a sudden 2023’s homeless are looking good for another finals run.

One to watch out for is Old Haileybury and the Seccull brothers, they are a seriously talented bunch of boys. Mr Durras Seccull in particular, a big, key forward who kicks goals for fun.

Caulfield look like they have lost several, but with Mr Martin pumping scholarships into the school in the last five years, they’re certain to have some boys come through who will be future stars of the VAFA. Mr O’Rourke and Mr Williams are big losses however.

Uni Blues have Mr Cutler from Essendon as one of their marquee recruits, so they will look to get over the disappointment of last years points fiasco and re-load for a tilt before the amazing Mr Cordy is over the hill.

Old Brighton, under the tutelage of Donuts will be strong, however I am hearing some murmurings of a couple of key departures to the VFL.

Finally, the most improved team may be the reigning premiers in SKOB, if for no other reason that they were such a young team last year.

They will once again be coached by the newly anointed VAFA Coach of the Year, the great Mr Lynch, enough said.

Thanks Mr Platinum

Can you please confirm whether one or both the Wallis boys (Mitch and Josh) will be at SKOB in 2023?

Paine is a big loss for OMs if it is true he is retiring.

Mitch is already training with us & would be surprised if Josh doesn’t come back from Qld. Paine definitely playing & possibly a couple of his mates.

Mr non-SKOB Football, please change your username to OM's Football. It would be great if Mr Paine plays, but that's not what he has been telling his mates.

This is the content I am here for xxxxAFL big name recruits. Wrap it up and place it under the tree!

I would suggest based on social media posts that there will be very little movement inwards to the VAFA playing cohort in premier section at least. Let's see what happens when the new year rolls around as I assume most clubs will have finished up training either late last week or early this week for calendar year 2022.

Track watchers would know any serious teams will have trained already in 2023. What have you seen? Any boom recruits? Perhaps an XXXXAFL Smokey?

Uni Blues are chasing Jack Newnes and also have Tom Cutler from Essendon amongst others.

Interestingly, Newnes is a Marcellin boy, just what they need to get that club back on track.

Nothing else to report, yet.

Too hot to cook tonight so I treated everyone to some Portuguese chicken in Tooronga tonight. I spied a curly blonde winning all the sprints?
