Not as bad as the Footyology podcast with Rohan Connolly and Rodney Eade, concerned that Crouch is one dimensional and Sloane has missed a year. And that was their midfield analysis!

They're not wrong, it's just they missed our games in 2022 i think.

Just had a listen. Jeeeez, you weren’t kidding. Not a single utterance of Laird or Berry’s name

I think it is time we come to the realisation that Milera will be another 1st round failure as really only teased us with his talent in few games and any chance that he might have gone to level we hoped injuries etc have derailed those hopes .
The club has invested a lot of money in contracts on him, on the journey of hope .
Like all hope is what we still have that he can provide a role, but some posters still have him on a pedestal.

You just had to try and scrape up that negativity after a really positive pre-season and everyone being bullish on the season coming. You must be a laugh at parties.

rodney eade is as dumb as dogshit
Well that puts him one up on rabid lefty Rohan Connolly...get a load of his social media outside of the AFL. No wonder he can't get a gig any longer in the mainstream media if you view that.

This is what I saw. Too many negative traits. Refuses to be versatile, doesn’t seem to like the contest and constantly looking for cheap ball in useless positions. Happy to give him a stretch of games but if I were to bet bust or boom, it would be bust.

I feel the same..

Just such a dissapointing career up till this point.. obviously not helped by two years out with injury.

But its just about time to add him to the pile of first round pick fails..

Milera
Gooch
Mchenry
Jones
Mcasey

Swap even just two of those players for players that were picked after them.. lets say

Mcasey for kossie pickett and jones for butters..

And our current 22 would look very dangerous.

If we hadve nailed all 5 first round picks instead.. our 22 would be ready to seriously contend.

Hamish and co really have failed badly on first rounders in the last 8 years..

Strangely he’s (Hamish) sort of redeemed himself slightly with some lucky later picks like Soligo and berry.. both of whom, if you revisited their draft year, you’d drop first rounders on without question.

One of the things that annoys me most is people who follow a political party like a football team. It's crept in more into society in the last ten years.

The political parties are not that different to begin with but even so neither are perfect. Plus you want a good opposition.

Connelly is one of those.

Hey Trucky settle matey or are you trying to be a mini Sanders by just targeting posters.
I gave a opinion on a player like all do on here .
e.g many many strong opinions on ROB etc etc.
Not to sure how are simple post about a player, let alone who many consider a fringe player has anything to do with season ahead or us supporters anticipation of.
Anyway lets party on enjoying the season ahead.

In my early years, I was a dyed-in the wool supporter of one party.
Took many years but the disillusionment with the lies, failed promises, and sneakily bringing in policies that had been kept secret prior to election etc etc got me to switch sides. Ok for a couple of years but now realise they’re all hopeless bastards and I don’t care anymore.
As Jarvis Cocker says (in his song C•nts Are Still Running The World)…

Some say.. cream rises to the top
I say.. shit floats

What we have in parliament (across all parties) is not the best available talent… just what’s left 😉

Just sick of the sad sacks on here, so many never happy unless they are bringing everything down. Everything has been pointing to Jnr having a good year but have a week off for family reasons and boom "you're a bust pal"

I felt he was very.... laconic? over the two trials. I just don't think he works hard enough. He's certainly got the bloody talent. It's just the penny still hasn't dropped with him... just wondering if it will?

I'm pretty sure I know where you fit in on that spectrum as well but funnily enough although we sometimes disagree on football matters you're one of the posters on this board that I do actually respect the opinion of mostly...so there.

Seems Rory Laird is rated higher by others more than he is on this board....my only knock ever on him has been his tendency to give his kicks too much elevatiopn but even that has seemed to have improved markedly last season and certainly this season in the trial games.

Since he copped some criticism last year when he had something like 42 touches with 3/4 of them handballs (was either the GC or Hawthorn game), he's been making more of an effort to kick the ball. Seems like he's starting to hit the scoreboard a bit more too.

So can we put him in your side

Yes, after a goal he kicked in the Weagles match, Lairdy savoured the moment and I imagined he was thinking… that was fun, I should do this more often 😊
