Disappointed in the lack of training reports on all of our favorite players

McHenry
Murphy
Crouch
Jones
Sloane
ROB
McHenry: B-, some very good stuff and some not great stuff
Murphy: C+, completely fine but that's it
Crouch: B, some proactive kicks that opened the play up, seems fitter and faster
Jones: B+, some very good kicks and handballs but he was mostly on the opposite side of the ground
Sloane: N/A was mostly doing wholesome stuff with the kids
ROB: F, tapping to the oppo and failing to take a single mark

I don’t think he’s developed enough to just play wing in the AFL, he’s been tried there and done * all. If that’s where we want to play him, let him build confidence, continuity and form in that role in the SANFL.

We have persisted with him at AFL but I don’t think it’s doing him any favours. We’ve taken away the SANFL building block that most young players need, sure there are exceptions who adapt quicker and need less time like Soligo, but he’s a gun, Jones ain’t.

bigman where has Jones been training?
In the back half mainly

Though he mightn't have been in everything I was pleasantly quite surprised to note Sloane doing some drills with the squad!

Was a good hit out today. Burgess definitely has them looking fit. Great crowd in too.

Soligo, Max, Bond, Dowling, Hinge (and for 1 drill, Pedlar) were in the restricted group. Not injured, but clearly managing workloads as they took part in some drills. Thilthorpe started out with the main group but then worked one on one with someone working on his marking. I suspect they gave him an easier session after the ankle roll on Monday. Rachelle not at 100% but did take part in a few drills. Keays, Sloane and Doedee in the fluoro caps. Worrell, Newchurch, McAdam the 3 in the injured camp.

I'll be honest, I barely saw Rankine today, mainly because I was at the northern end. Good to hear he looked lively. I can talk about the forwards and defenders.

Borlase was so-so today. Will sometimes get the spoil in or get into a good position one on one. Other times he looked like a school boy.

Murray and Butts good defensively. Max has good positioning but Fog rag-dolled him a couple of times.

To my eye, Tex looked just a fraction slower today. He may be carrying a niggle. Butts did well when on him.

Gollant had sticky hands today which was nice to see. Even Himmelberg was marking them.

Pedlar has to be a shoe in for the half forward role round 1 if he's fit.
