Puma out, KooGa in: New "Kit" on the way

Just saw the photo of Luke on his thread....didn't think the jumper could get any worse.....I was wrong:(

Yep, just when I thought the club was on the right track it puts in another disastrous day with the jumper and a couple of delistings. After the shambolic year we have had, represented by that disgraceful paddlepop lion jumper, we refuse to continue the positive happenings in recent months and maintain that pathetic looking lion.

With a new apparel sponsor, why on earth could we not revert to the real lion...why would we be locked in on a particular jumper design...I just don't get it.

God it's horrible, they've made the neck/collar region even worse. Doesn't help that the picture they released looks like Power is staring right into the sun.

In my honest oppinion it looks like a cheaper/tackier alternative to 2010's paddlepop jumper

And by the looks of the outside of Lukey's left leg, we have the lion head logo added to the shorts as well...

Would have loved it if the club might give a nod to the old logo by putting in there instead. Ah well, another opportunity lost.

2009 was heading in a good direction..... cant see a top 8 finish until at least 2013-2015

2011 looks lost as far as the old logo is concerned.

Koo Ga has rightfully organized the kits nice and early which is a shame. Just like the shithouse 2010 jumper, the '11 version will be selling for a measly $60 by years end.

I felt sorry for the poor buggers that went to all our home games and got called out to get their signed guernsey this year. I thought I might've been one to get one this year, simply because fate loves being a prick, and I thought of all the years to get a signed guernsey, I bet I'll get one of those hunks of shit.

I wonder if Brett Kirk thought "Damn, if I retired last year I would have got a decent jumper from Blacky... I can't frame this POS".

Re: Luke Power

Just awful. Can't believe we could go from having one of the best jumpers in the league to one of the worst. The lion is too large. It will always look distorted.

Re: Luke Power

I really don't think it is any worse than this year's guernsey and much as I don't like it, I can live with it for another season if I must.

Let's all hope the 2 year lock in for the new guernsey is true and that we only have to put up with it for one more season and can revert to the old lion for 2012.

Oh dear.

No Merch for me again this year. Not the slightest bit interested in purchasing anything with that sort of design. Just plain awful, again.

Will be interesting to see the Merch results for 2011 - I'm sure there was some form of spike in 2010 for people who thought they 'must' have the new one, but I doubt that regular merch buyers will be opening their wallets with this setup.

""The KooGa brand is synonymous with innovation - our players and coaches are immensely looking forward to wearing their new gear and reaping the benefits."

Apparently this jumper is vomit proof - it'll need to be.

Also - found it interesting that the Melbourne Herald Sun have appeared to come up with their own logo design for the Lions. Check out this link:

Scroll down to the Lions section, and you can see a modernised Lions head to the side version. Not sure why they've done it, when they've pretty much featured all of the regular club guernsey designs for the rest of them....

Common sense would have meant we could have used this opportunity to discuss with the supporters what they want.

Now with the Sponsors having 2 years left on there deal we will have Paddlepop for 2 years yet.

Our jumpers are the laughing stock of the AFL.

Why dont people in Brisbane protest at GABBA games?
Create a massive banner or something.
Im sure this will get them listening.

I wish I could 'like' this post similar to what you can do on facebook haha. This is a great idea, several banners all around the ground saying the same thing, something like, give us back our lion. If this was done, especially on the games were its free to air and it can get caught on camera, it may make a difference!

Wouldn't put it past the club to confiscate banners.

Best way to send a message about the jumper is to not buy it. It is as simple as that.

That would only work if everyone didn't buy it though. While it is unpopular, it's still being bought (I saw far too many at the Essendon-Brisbane game this year). Clubs react to bad publicity, every facebook status Essendon FC made this year turned into 200 people saying "sack Knights" and "get Hirdy as the new coach".

It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

Disagree. Low sales will send a message.

Mate, plenty was done by supporters to hammer the club over the new jumper. The SaveOurJumper campaign got considerable coverage in TV, radio and print. At the end of the day it didn't get the result.

A banner certainly won't do it.

Just because people said "Sack Knights" on Facebook doesn't mean that was the reason for him getting sacked. Everyone could see his time was up. Give your board more credit than painting them as simpletons trawling Facebook for strategic advice.

I nearly lost all faith in humanity after reading the codshit written on the Brisbane Lions Facebook Group. Certainly hope the club stays well away from it.
