Usually I don't like these shitty statistics because it comes down to who you play but:

Collingwood has now lost 3 games without really being in any of the games.

I'd argue GWS are prime for a GF, but not sold on Sydney yet, and I still think ST Kilda are a 5-8 team. Having said that, a previous grand final winner should not be struggling this early.

FWIW I think Collingwood experienced a shit ton of luck last season. A lot of very close games. The one against Port Adelaide was ****ed because they literally nailed everything. I think they got the most out of their season.

I think the pack is coming and Collingwood is starting to find out.

pies have never been a dominant team in their flag year, in fact last year, no team was the dominant 1 or 2

Before last year, no team had ever won from outside the top 4. Did that stop the bulldogs?
Brisbane finished 5th and won the flag in 2024.

Brisbane had some luck though.

Came from the dead 44 points down to beat GWS in a semi final.

Beat the cats in a prelim final at the MCG.

Beat the swans in the grand final.

Just about all premiers have some luck though. Some more than others, sure, but in the AFL these days luck plays a part.

Fair to say the Lions took care of the non luck pay pretty well this September

If Richmond can make the finals after starting 3-10, GWS can make the finals after starting 0-2

Here's another one for you, most premiership teams only have 1 or 2 readheads (if any). If you have any more, should you cut your losses and start a new 5 year plan?
yeah crazy that Richmond made finals starting from 3 wins and 10 losses. They then won 9 games in a row to 12 wins, 10 losses and a finals spot.

Most teams that post 3 wins and 10 losses after 13 games finish in the bottom 4 or bottom 6. At best they could get 7 or 8 wins from that position.

Carlton in 2023 had 4 wins , 8 losses and a draw from their 1st 13 games and some how ended up 5th with 13 wins, 9 losses and a draw.
