We leaked in transition and on the rebound after a turnover. We were rock solid when we had time to set up.

Pitted and Hombsch were brilliant.

As I got off the train, some nerd chick lost her shit over my Powertroopers tee shirt (Port/Star Wars from a few years back.) Unfortunately, she wasn't one of those smoking hot nerd chicks I've heard about. Pornography is a lie.

Finally, the dumb shit family member in hospital I bailed on to go to the footy is in a bit of strife.

But they're still a campaigner.

agree jackson, pittard and hombsch were really good, there is only so much you can do when players are streaming free off the half back line through to the half forward line. our poor defensive efforts are 100% on the coaches, looking forward to watching the replay, pausing it at times and looking at all their loose players and where they came from. at the game it was so frustrating at the game looking up to see no forwards and loose saints everywhere.

Was Lobbes best game this year but that's not saying much. Still would rather see Dougle in the team next week.

Football wise is there anything better than a big angry full forward who can crash packs and tackle. Kicking a few goals is the icing on the cake.

even in the first half it was evident how much he helps our structures. so many times we panic bombed it in his direction and he was always able to force a contest even in 2 on 1s. last year that would have been schulz, and while he would have had a crack they'd take it away with ease.

Clearances were my main concern. That has to be the number one focus. Even when Lobbe won the tap we weren't getting first hands to it.

Dixon is such a massive pick-up for us. He really straightens us up and defensively he's incredible. I'm confident he can start sticking a few more marks as time goes on too - his positioning and body-work was first-rate.

Jasper looks transformed. A few great grabs and much more assured with his disposal. Great stuff.

Overall a few concerns but still a lot to like. The forward line looks potent in a way that it rarely did last year.

Time for our first Brownlow medalist in R. Gray.

Phew!! I knew St. Kilda would turn up today just had that feel, they have some very good mids they'll trouble more than a few sides this year, having said that I thought we looked woeful in the middle for most of the first three quarters.. hopefully we've blown out the cobwebs.. Polec and Charlie looked better the longer the game went.

I've had nothing but a brilliant experience with the AFL live pass.

It has such a bad rep, though.

If it's blurry, the problem is on your end with your internet speed.

Go and read all the complaints on their crowd support. The problem is with them, this is my 3rd season using it, could watch it the last 2 seasons. There are people with NBN struggling to get it running

We played some pretty ordinary footy at times today, but we didn't give up. Something that couldn't be said for quite a few games last year.
