J-PO, BITCHES!!!

How good is it to see Jared Polec back?

So smooth. So poised. So balanced. So. F@%king. Awesome.

Man, we've got heaps of hotties following us.

Back in the SANFL days, I always thought Glenelg had the hottest hotties. But our glamours make them look like bozzies. That's short for Bosnian Swamp Donkeys.

Charlie. F@%king. Dixon.

One game in and we all love him. Especially when he gave the big fist pump to the crowd in the last quarter. Swear people were jacking off in public when he did that.

Or was that just me?

Dude on the train was decked out in Port gear but sat a "Crows Member" sports bag on his lap.

WTF, man?

As I got off the train, some nerd chick lost her shit over my Powertroopers tee shirt (Port/Star Wars from a few years back.) Unfortunately, she wasn't one of those smoking hot nerd chicks I've heard about. Pornography is a lie.

Finally, the dumb shit family member in hospital I bailed on to go to the footy is in a bit of strife.

But they're still a campaigner.

POWER!!!
Haha!!

GOOD

- We look fit again, to run out the game that well with a man down is very good to see.
- Dixon was really good, nervous to start with but 3 goals and brought the ball down a lot. Very happy.
- Robbie Gray and Wingard carried the team through the tough times in the game again. How good are they.
- Thought Hombsch and Trengove were good and both played well on Riewoldt.
- Pittard had one of the best games I have seen him play but he still had his classic stuff up which gave them a goal.
- Westy had a great game.
- Sam Gray great game, picked up the slack of the so called elite mids in our team who can't win the ball.

BAD

- Three of the first 4 goals to the saints were just shocking skill errors.
- We looked disorganised at the back, they changed the match ups at every centre bounce and were all looking confused 24/7 on who was marking who. This seemed to result somehow in them always having a free man in their forward 50, even from centre clearances? I don't know if it's a team tactic to give away cheap easy goals but if we do that next week we will lose.
- Absolutely belted in the clearances. Ah Chee gets 3 clearances with absolutely limited time in the centre. Hammer and Boak combine for a total of 5 clearances in 2 full games in there.
- Boak. Same old story as last year. 11 disposals to 3QT, ran at 58% disposal efficency. 3 clearances. Not good enough, wondering when others will be getting on board with this because he dished this shit up 50% of games last year.
- Hammer. This is how he started last year, 41% efficency for an "ELITE" user of the ball. We have clearance problems because 2 of our "ELITE" in and under midfielders (Hammer and Boak) cannot win the god damn ball.
- Jonas. Not really sure what his role is. He should never be the loose defender because his disposal is appalling, so not sure why he was at stages. It seemed to me it was regularly his man getting the ball over the back. I am still just not sure how he is in our 22.

Really? He was rubbish until the game was over when he finally managed to get his hand on it and/or kick straight. I want our draft picks back.
Bit harsh saying he was rubbish. He tackled and gave it a crack. Ok rubbish but still kicked three in a first game for a team, in front of 40 odd thou. Cant wait for him to have a good game. They can keep those picks. Yeah i know your being sarcasm.

Lobbe had 47 himself, but yeah we can't be giving opposition mids that much ball every week.

Hitouts to advantage stat will be interesting to see

I thought Dixon had a mare yet still had 6 scoring shots, 3 goals and 9 score involvements (3rd for port).

God help everyone if he starts holding marks

Oh lobbe.

"Tom Hickey played the best match of his career in the ruck for the Saints, collecting 56 hit-outs and helping midfielders Jack Steven (36 possessions), Leigh Montagna (29), David Armitage (28) and Seb Ross (30) enjoy prolific games."
The good thing playing the Crows, is Jacobs owns Lobbe like his personal Gimp, kept in the cellar. We know round 2 if Lobbe's well known and big shortfalls can be covered enough to beat sides that are mid-table (let alone top teams). If next week is a loss, largely off the back of Lobbe's 'work', fast tracking Dougal may be the only choice.

God help everyone when his teammates stop lobbing it on top of his head as a get-out option and start kicking to his advantage.

So what was the huge pre game thing that was gonna blow everyones minds?

Was it just hinkleys address?

God I hated watching us get bent over at the back of the contest time and time and time again. It's great to play that way if you have a dominant midfield - but we don't.

But good teams find a way to win and we did that.

I clearly remember the crowd exposing us that way I think in last years pre season game. Eddie and Josh love cheap kicks so hope we sort our shit out for the showdown.

Great crowd, great last quarter.

I think so. Not mind blowing, but I thought it was great.

It got praise on afl.com.au too:

5. Nobody does pre-game entertainment like the Power

You can keep your fireworks and flag-bearers, because Port has once again taken match-day entertainment to a new level. Supporters at Adelaide Oval were treated to a rare look inside the inner sanctum of Port's team room as Ken Hinkley addressed his players pre-match, with the coach imploring his charges to represent their supporters with daring football. It was spine-tingling stuff and, combined with a heart-rate monitor on Travis Boak as he led the side onto the ground and the now customary INXS hit 'Never Tear Us Apart' before the bounce, it raised the bar in a fan engagement area that the Power are already streets ahead of most clubs.

Just saw his post game interview, he said something about having concrete hands in the first half.. perhaps we all should've remembered he only had a half of footy in the pre-season under his belt.. he'll be so much better for the run, but how good was it just to see a bloke that size in our foward line at AO today :D

Can officially allay fears of Thomilf no longer working for the club by providing proof uploaded from my potato
