So I didn’t have much to do, so thought I would have a look.
After 2 or 3 minutes looking, I had not found a video with that exact statement, but there was one explaining that he was not going to be picked up, but then CC left and he was picked then.
I did find an interview in the Advertiser with Andrew Capel, where he says that Don Pike told him that he was being recruited as a small forward, so Giacomo is at least partially correct.

Haven’t tried. Some of us have to work occasionally.

Now you made this ridiculous claim that we “drafted Murphy as a midfielder’ and naturally attacked anyone who disagreed with you. Do you think it is a clue that no other poster supports you “version” of the truth 🤔?

Please provide any evidence that “We drafted Murphy as a midfielder” (other than but, but, but he played in the midfield in the Under 8s).

I will find the interview when I have some free time because “Mate, I want to do you slowly”!

I was wondering why Doedee couldn’t handball to save his life. But apparently his hand was heavily taped. As Sensible Crow says, this must be the time to bring Worrall in.

Na, Doedee's got a few more games in him yet before we wreck his hand so bad that he has a few weeks off, then refuse to do surgery until the middle of next year.

Just to clarify, it was a radio interview with Murphy. My recollection is that it wasn’t the MMM or 5aa idiots but I could be wrong.

I thought it was a strange decision by Pyke at the time but I was pleased that the kid was given a chance. Murphy is not a natural forward and misses too many easy shots at goal. He is also not a key forward despite our desire to turn him into a marking forward.

I like his courage and he has other attributes that suggest he could develop into a handy player but I doubt that he has a long term future as a small forward.

As a forward, he is in the Petrenko/Knight league of shitness.

I'd probably make him the specialist sub. He can come on for 20 minutes and bring some energy as others are tiring.

I would like to see Newchurch given a go. Definitely Murphy out.

I would like to see Worrell/Borlase in for Butts.

I think Walker and Rachelle would be good to have back in, but don't know who would be the outs there. Crouch could be dropped. Isn't damaging at all. Wonder if the coaches have given him the block of games to the bye before they give up.

There is something about Rowe that makes me think he is going alright, and I am hesitant to drop right now. McHenry love his fight and effort but not damaging. Maybe drop him back to the 2's to give him a chance to reset.

Would explain why he was unusually fumbly.

Once again we play a known injured player... & they play badly.

We are in a rebuild period & we still play injured senior players... which is crazy!

No one could have performed worse than Doedee last week.

Speaking of Riley Knight, why did we recruit McHenry when we had a player with similar attributes in Knight?
Both hard at it, defensive type with a large tank and average pace.
I am no fan of Riley but would prefer him over McHenry. At least he is more likely to kick goal from a set shot and not give away stupid free kicks in the attacking 50.

We recruited Knight, who, while he had played half forward in the state U18 team, had played all his best football as a midfielder, then played him as a half forward (the exact role McHenry is in). Eventually we decided he wasn't getting enough possessions or impacting the scoreboard.

Anyone want to guess what McHenry's future holds?

Why we do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result is beyond me.

Meanwhile, Knight's last game for WWT - 48 disposals. 22 kicks, 26 handballs, 9 marks, 5 tackles.

Why we can't play the likes of McHenry for spurts on ball is a mystery.

Could use him to niggle an opposition gun midfielder.

There is no AFL rule that says you can only use 4 inside midfielders as part of your rotations.

****wits. That’s depressing, effectively we used a first rounder on a roll Knights could play only Knights played it better.

What?! There is no rule against it? Do we know?
Someone needs to let the club know. Think of all the trouble we could have avoided. All the losses. If only!

IMHO McHenry, Rachele and Rowe/Murphy should all have spurts on the ball. Not only does it provide some variety in the midfield and some extra energy, it also keeps the small forwards in the game. Small forward is a very difficult role and easy to feel not quite part of the game. Getting them in the thick of the action for a few minutes, will help keep them focussed and in form.

It's a win-win-win. Except we can't see it for some reason. Apparently having M Crouch in there is a bigger benefit.

how i met your mother idiots GIF

I would go:

Out - In

Brown - Parnell
Doedee - Worrell
Mchenry - Newchurch
Murphy - Cook

Sub - Jones

Give Rachele and Tex a good long rest, no SANFL for either.

SANFL team to give significant on ball minutes to Pedlar, Schoey, Taylor and McHenry.

So we should bring Parnell in for Brown but we won't, who wants to guess which stupid move we will do instead?
Milera to slide back and play the small defensive back. Schoenberg comes in and plays exclusively as a HFF doesn’t get the same freedom as Murph to run around must play as the HF not extra mid. Moose comes in as sub Jones dropped.

He's had that hand issue most of the year from memory, but he was woeful last week.

For me:

OUT - IN

Milera - Jones
Brown - Parnell
Butts - Frampton (no choice really)
Crouch - Cook
Murphy - Newchurch

Of course we know the club won't drop Crouch or Milera. It would be admitting the error.
I also don't care if Cook gets 10 possessions a game. He needs experience. He's going to be a match winner.

Borlase instead of Billy ??
