The structure and forward entry stinks and that's the main problem, but it doesn't excuse the amount of balls that bounce off Dixon's hands. He's getting to it cleanly every time for minimal return. We could at least be making lemonade out of lemons but we're even struggling with that.

Perhaps, but a win is a win. 1 point or 100. We can't afford to be picky. I won't deride other posters for having high expectations of our performance.

Except Janus when he backflip after his showboating and arrogance in the lead up to the showdown.
I certainly agree with the second part.

I feel like I'm definitely in the minority here - but the Redpath and Bont goals in the last on Stewart weren't really his fault. Great kicks and excellent marks by both Redpath and Bontempelli. No defender in the league would have stopped the Bontempelli mark and the Redpath one was a one hander using pure strength. He's a key forward, Stewart isn't a key defender. I think that might be getting lost in the reviews of his performance.

Not saying he had a good game by any stretch, but I felt sorry for him out there.

Edit: I also thought Austin was on Redpath for the first quarter, but I might be wrong.

Polec got dropped and when he came back he had a blinder.Hinkley said he should never play SANFL again because he is in our best 22.He has hardly fired a shot since that statement.

Polec is incredible on his day but fk me his lack of effort sometimes is frustrating.

Guys like Polec, Westhoff, Hartlett, Neade when they have an off day it is team destroying

Yup exactly what I've been saying. He's doing his best in a position that's not suited for him. He still gave his best.

I feel his confidence will suffer now though, and he will struggle, but he has been so solid for us this season when he's on his preferred match-up

FU, barista.

My apoplectic rage had calmed to furious frustration until I sipped my cappucino. Cappucino? WTF? I ordered a flat white you dumb shit!

Ugh. That loss. Seriously.

Ken often talks about "moments." Well, there were enough "moments" out there today to do me a lifetime, the after-life and all eternity. Inexplicable, WTF? moments. Should be friggin' used to it, tho. The same shit kills us week-in, week-out. Spin, cycle, repeat.

But yay Port! Good effort! Honourable loss! Proud!

F@%k me. Are we that far gone we're rationalizing losses? Delayed trauma from or flashbacks to 2011/12 is the only explanation I can come up with for that. Gawd, I feel like Terry Wallace* in Year of the Dogs right now. Yeah, it's that bad:

I don't know about you blokes but I can't f@%king bare losing a game like that! Look, fantastic effort. But what does a f@%king fantastic effort mean? It doesn't get us anything! We don't get a point! They don't just give us f@%king something for getting close! It means nothing!... I don't know about you guys but if I see one bloke out of here getting a pat on the back from people out there for a good effort, I'll spew up! Because. It's. Just. Not. Acceptable... We just pissed it down the drain. We absolutely pissed that game down the drain.

However, this campaigner of a footy day wasn't a total write-off. Finally picked up "Unmasked Kylo Ren" and "Nien Nunb" Star Wars action figures. Been searching far and wide, high and low, for those bad boys since January. I have you know.

Anyway, f@%k it, I'm off to catch up on the last four eps of Silicon Valley series three...

*Inb4 someone rubbishes Plough, even though his teams made Prelim finals, too.

Stewart got ****ing hung out to dry by an extremely poor midfield effort when the game was truly on the line.

Seems to me most times Dixon is being double teamed/triple teamed when goes for a mark. When he gets a one on one contest he holds the mark.

I am sure being double teamed/triple teamed is fun if you are Sasha Grey but not if you are a full forward.
Liked for the Sasha Grey reference.

We sure have an issue in that midfield, you just can't concede that many center clearances and expect to win. I know we were playing a quality side but this one leaves a nasty taste, similar to the Carlton game.

Can't help but think we need a defensive player on the edge of the square for the centre stoppages... Too often the opposition is getting out easily straight through the middle

I wonder how the bloke who had an epiphany while eating dumplings at last night and decided to drive from Melbourne to Adelaide at 2am to go to the game and posted about it. I hope you're doin OK man.:thumbsu:
It was powerpowerpower. Awesome stuff, hope you're tucked up at a motel tonight.

Also, people who blame the umps for our losses should have a squiz at the free kick count today...

Pannell was a bit of a campaigner in the first quarter, and the morons physically got in our way at at least three critical moments in the first half, but aside from that...
