R4: Port v Hawthorn Review

Smuggly smiling as the stupid crows supporter at work tries to belittle our win on the weekend, waiting for him to finish the white noise. Then asking him if he thinks that his, team that just lost to the Bullies, could kick away from the reigning premier like we did.

Result = blabbering mess who brings up their better WL record.

God some people need to know when to just shuttup and realise they're pushing dung up Mt Everest!

Quite funny coming across these Crows/Hawks fans saying we got lucky because we supposedly kicked so many flukey goals, yet no mention of Duryea's goal in the 4th qtr of course ...

Nor the Bruest goal from a lucky ricochet off the shins I take it.

Something to think about :

3 of our last 7 games we have come out with an avalanche in the first.

EF V Richmond

Prelim v Hawks (kicking let us down)

Round 4 V Hawks

That's gonna get some coaches thinking.

Let's hope you are smiling next Monday too!
I'm always smiling mate! Life if good!!!

My mates who go for the crows and actually have an understanding of footy are feeling pretty shaky after our two team's polarising performances this week. I'm going in pretty confident!

Would like to see Ah Chee get trained in a shut-down role. Someone will have to take over from Cornes sooner or later. I would have thought he would have come on at 3/4 time and gone to Lewis. He's taking on the game well and he should be given a task that will make him.

Much needed win and the 4 points against Hawthorn is invaluable. A game of two halve no doubt. The thing that disturbs me the most is Port had no idea in dealing with the second halve onslaught. I hope Ken&CO develop some strategy to deal with some of the obvious dumb footy that we engaged in at this time. They literally just walked all over us, i know we were tiring but Hawthorn were on the field for just as long the kicks out of defense straight to the opposition was disturbing and no ability to put attacking pressure on the opposition. Come on Ken you can do better than that!
I think it was more to do with the players not hitting the ball and the player with the ball as hard as what they did in the first half than anything to do with Ken and co.

Jason Dunstall On the Couch tonight.

"I wish I had of been at Adelaide Oval because I, only watched it on TV, but I saw the purest and most perfect quarter of football I think I have nearly ever seen."

A deserving win despite a difficult month of football and omissions. The game was well and truly over by half time, and I'm not sure what the opposition were thinking, given that they now have to play North next week.

When they started smashing out the middle, that's when I knew we needed Gray and Wines out there so much.

That's my thoughts too , we got it out the middle with our skilful players in the first half like Wingard , we missed Wines to help tough it out and Gray for his super in close work getting the ball out .
Fingers crossed Gray comes up this week

Something that I forgot to mention in the review podcast...

I'm not sure if others have noticed, but the boundary umpires seem to have been specifically instructed to throw the ball in more so towards the centre circle this year, rather than perpendicular to the boundary line. Quite a few times I've been surprised at how far to the side of the ruckmen the ball has been thrown in, and after not long it has become obvious that it is always favouring the centre of the ground.

Particularly on Saturday night, I thought we were caught out by this a number of times. It seems to me to be a very simple fix, whoever's contesting must set up on the 'defensive side' at virtually every throw in.

Hawks picked Puopolo despite him being under an injury cloud so it was self inflicted.
Except that the "injury cloud" was a corky on his thigh and the injury he sustained was a hamstring. And I'm not 100% sure but I think opposite legs too.

So bloody lucky to win that one. But was missing gray and wines and some players seem at 《90÷.
1st q was very lucky, clarko knew it. Wingard goal tough
hartlett goal crazy
westhoff goal crazy
schulz goal tough

Cant remember others, but could have been 4.6.

Then when we had all the ball at the end of q3 we didnt put it away. Mitchell, Hartlett and Polec fairly regulation misses. I think 15.9 was fair from where we were taking shots for the most part.
