I too would have thrown a stone, but alas, you might already be stoned.

27 point loss IMO, minimum.

Savage to be rested as I do not want the club risking hammies this early in the season, swap for Joey, probably Rooey for Roberton or Webster since they'll likely back Geary in to play small/mid alongside Dempster and push Newnes back, either give Dmac or Acres the full game and keep Schneids in since it'll be about workrate mostly if we're going to be in it, and no slight to Robbo, but I don't think he uses his body nearly enough in such contests whereas Schneids does for that extra rotation slot.

If we can play like we did against Essendon with Riewoldt and Montagna back in the side I think we're a chance of knocking off the Dogs.

They might be due for a bit of a let down after a great win in tough conditions against the Swans and might also get a bit ahead of themselves after the media have been blowing smoke up their arses the last couple of weeks.

Would be great to knock them off to show that they're not the only up and coming young team in town.

Who was counting those touches.

I counted 7 for McCartin and 2 marks, and if Saad got ten touches, I'll go hee... He had Half a dozen in the last, but never got a sniff until then... I actually never saw him touch it.

Eli surely had more of the ball... I had him at about 15 at HT

Minchington would have got 8-10 in the last quarter

Saw Holmes take a hanger... But he was outdone when I saw one of biggest marks in my life by #11 for Northern... He sat Michael Roach style on our fwds shoulders and took a screamer and a half.

It's called selective perception. Saad could touch it 30 times and you still wouldn't notice.

If he touched the ball at all I would have noticed.

I sat each quarter behind the goals and focused on McCartin, Brown, Saad and White. McCartin in particular.

Saad was joking around with his opponent and chatting to him like a mate throughout the game, looked as though he was just not overly caring.... He's lost pace and plays as a primarily as a leading fwd... Not a f&s forward... Like Lonie or Minchington ....

His foray onto the wing in the third lasted about ten mins... Just couldn't find it...

Boy oh boy wowee - its going to be a tough selection meeting on Thursday innit???!! :p:p

Roo and Joey in but who comes out? Savage if he's not fit for Joey me thinks but who for Roo - McKenzie? That would be a tad unfair on the guy.....

I don't know and its kinda a nice problem to have

What i do know is that Saad and Shenton barring injury to the team are going to struggle to get back in to the side if last Saturday was any indication....

Shenton is behind Webster and Roberton... Possibly a fit Murdoch/Ray/Gilbert.

He shouldn't get a game with those fit.

Saad... Dear oh dear...

Why should Montagna go straight into the seniors after being out a long period, played some ordinary footy last season and should have a game at Sandy at least to get back into it- the team should be largely unchanged as a reward for their great effort against the Dons.

Didn't he pull up sore at training last week?

That makes me immediately think reinjured, but I'm more of a cynic than I used to be.

Surely we couldn't drop Roberton - I think he's just starting to 'come along'. Agree on Savage though.

Saad did have a terrific game. Frustrated that Lonie has been consistently good this year but hasn't got a nomination yet. Hopefully it will come soon.

To be fair to Saad he had a 27 possession game. Lonie does stuff that makes you salivate for the future but probably would need high possessions or a fairly large haul of goals to get the nod. I don't need a nomination to predict he has X factor and will likely be an absolute gun of a player. I don't think Milne won too many awards but he let his footy do the talking.

Lonie will get a nomination... For certain.

Acres, Sinclair, Templeton, McKenzie will push for one also

All of those 5 with Dunstan, Newnes, McCartin, Longer, Goddard, Bruce, Minchington, Webster, Membrey

Will definitely be part of our next finals push.

Probably with Armo, Steven and Delaney

3 more Dps from this season

And 2 from the season after...

Season 2018-2020...

McCartin and Goddard 21-23yo

On a broken leg.

I think Weller will be in the next push too. He got let off some of the really tight lock down and did some really important contested work which got us through heavy traffic. He didn't get much praise but he was really good. He can do more than be an anchor. I think Lee, Wright, Saunders and White are still in with a very good chance of making it too.

I watched the Suns game... Saad accumulated the ball a lot and did a few good things, but I wouldn't say he had similar impact to Lonie against the Dons. If we won yesterday, Lonie would have gotten the nomination in my opinion. It always helps when you win. Lonie will definitely get one in the next couple of weeks. Really think he could win it this year. Kid is such a gem. Already proving to be a really good player.
