Their fourth year? I'd go further than that (if I was having a quiet beer with Kurt)

- Mate, you will be turning 24 in the GC's first year. You will be turning 30 in their 7th year. That is pretty much the earliest any of the new clubs has managed a flag, and then they were clubs in established football states.

I was half-arsed in that I wrote 'challenging'. Didn't one of our assistants predict that GC and GWS will win every flag between 2015 and 2025? I'm only a year early on that, and their concessions are phenominal...... especially compared to ours, Freo's and Port's.

Matt Rendall said it.

She's studying. Plus at 22, she might not feel "ready" to move in with her boyfriend, let alone moving interstate to live with him.
Most of the young Victorian players have girlfriends living in Melbourne still so why is no one worried about them going home because of the girlfriends? Although, Mackay has said his girlfriend will move over when she finishes studying and I'm sure that is the same with the others. It's what happens when you have young guys, their girlfriends don't want to move out of home, to a new state, transfer uni's, etc - its easier to stay, finish uni THEN move over! And after seeing Kurt's girlfriend in the Shed a few times this year, she seems really close to the other girlfriends, so I don't think she'll be asking Kurt to move back to Queensland.
On Mackay, he is in the final processes of buying his first home in Adelaide so maybe he will spend his time off footy getting the house prepared for when his girlfriend finishes up studying. :thumbsu:

Just reported on 10 that Trigg and Reid flew up to the GC today to have the first meetings with Tippett and his manager, they said it will be a long process and don't expect to come to any agrements straight away.

So hopefully that means the deal is done just getting his signature :thumbsu:

C'mon Tippo, sign that dotted line like you've never signed before.

The more I put myself in his position, the more nervous I get about him signing. God damn the Gold Coast, go try to steal someone else's prodigious tall forward with your filthy over-the-top salary cap and ridiculous draft concessions.

Thanks Elvis - I'm just wondering how professional the process will be.

Also, the last thing we need is someone trying to make a career out of luring Kurt to the GC.

There are going to be a lot of young GC players looking for a manager and it would be tempting to be able to say - look what I did for Kurt, sign here ....

and if his manager is a Queenslander, hmmm

enough paranoia :(

I wonder how many players have had the CEO and Footy operations manager make a special interstate trip to discuss their contract.

Triggy said that it was quite common, its just unusual that reporters are at the airport at 5.30 to cover it. Still seems weird to me but at least it shows they are as serious as they should be.

no it will be his decision, and the manager's number one responsibility is to his client, but he is also running a business

put it this way - if you were Kurt's manager, is he more likely to be a bigger star and earn more money at Adelaide or GC?

if it was me, I think I'd be looking for a 2 year deal from Adelaide on bigger bucks and then a whopper from the GC

hopefully Kurt will say, nah, I want to be a one club guy - I'll take 5 years at whatever $$ Craigy says is best for the team :D

He. Will earn more at the GC but be a bigger star with us

It will all look at the window of oppotunity...

Who will have a closer chance of getting the flag..Crows or GC?

If he is chasing bucks then he is already gone, if he is chasing a premiership then you will see him sign..

Look at Pavlich, working his ass off for nothing, not a chance in hell of getting a flag..if he had gone 3 years ago he would be closer already..

Reid quoted in the Advetiser today saying the talks wont take 5 minutes but they were positive.
