Buchanan, Hall, Jolly

Picks Out

I think overall we have won in this years trading period. we have gained an extra first round pick in the draft giving us Pick 6 and Pick 14.

We have lost Darren Jolly (Our only major loss as the other players were on there way out) however next season we have more depth in the Ruck which I think will put us in a good position. And the two Ruckman we have acquired have there best football ahead of them.

On top of that we have gained two of the Hawks promising youngsters, I cant wait to see Kennedy in our midfield :)

Overall I give the Swans a score for this draft period of 9/10 (The only thing that lost a mark was the individual Jolly trade)
_______________

How much depth have we got next year!!!!

I really feel we will be climbing up the ladder next year and then hopefully 2011 challenging for the premiership.

I agree, I think overall we have done quite well. I'm happy we've managed to pick up a first round pick along with Mumford, Seaby, Kennedy and McGlynn. Disappointing to lose Jolly but I think we made the best of the situation. Makes me excited for the future.

totally agree with u Schmidt2003,

we have done very very well this trade period, looking very good for the future with some of the young guys we picked up, and the two first round picks we have now.

us and the dons i reckon are equal first for doing the best in the trade, and not far behind i think the saints did pretty well also.

CANT WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!!!!!!!

one word to say
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Just as an outsider looking in, maybe you were a little underpaid for Jolly, but your trading in general have been first rate.

Seaby and Mumford could develop into one of the better ruck combo's with the added game time, and Kennedy could really be a B+ to A grade midfielder. McGlynn will play a role also.

Well done. :thumbsu:

****ing stoked is an understatement for me. Im very happy with our trading. Kennedy is gonna be a ripper of a player, McGlynn can take all the gun-tagging duties off of Jack, MILF and Seaby will form a good young rucking combo and we are looking good boys and girls!

PLUS 2 quality youngsters in the first round. HOW SWEET IT IS!

overall we did very well.... we kept pick 6, and gained pick 14

we drafted 4 players, two of which look very good... the other two look solid

breakdown of individual trades

Buchanan - Seaby trade.... GOOD.... 2nd round downgrade, but compensated with 3rd round upgrade

Hall.... GOOD.... 3rd rounder was the real target and we got it, provided we'll have to throw in some later picks

Mumford..... PASS.... worth pick 28, we gave it.... but the fact we offered a huge contract to Mummy.... i thought we were going for the jagular, which we could of, but didn't

Jolly..... KINDA BAD.... we accomodated his wishes to play for Collingwood.... traded him about 10 - 20% under market value

McGlynn & Kennedy.... AWESOME :D:thumbsu:

Quick question - the Barry Hall trade was said to involve an exchange of late draft picks as well as picking up the Bulldogs' 3rd rounder. What the hell late draft selection do we have available to exchange?

Sorry guys but I still dont rate it that much at the moment, we would have got Seaby in the PSD anyway wasted pick, McGlynn and Kennedy havent done anything yet and wernt required players at Hawthorn so wow wee, we lost Jolly to the pies, Mumford got a heap of money thrown at him(way more than hes worth hardly genius trading) but Ill be happy when we use our picks wisely land the knock out punch with Fev and another big name in the PSD with our pick 5, probably will be Wojo as we (may) have offered him top dollar if he goes into the PSD to save a pick now. Ill rate the trading when its over, not now.

A bit harsh I think BIGBEZ. Sydney try to trade with Clubs, unlike a number of others so are generally able to get deals done when they need to. Sometimes means you have to pay a little over the odds (maybe Seaby). Mumford, still raw, played 18 games for the premiership team and his style and frame will suit the Sydney game plan. Seaby was always able to sneak forward and kick a goal. McGlynn has played a lot of senior football in a good team and tended to be slow getting back after injury - does add some pace. There is Bird and Jack and a few other solid mids (Hannebery?) but Kirk and Bolton are getting close to the end and Kennedy may help the replacement process. Not sure that Fev is really on the radar but certainly expect to pick up another one or two recycled players late ND or in PSD. On top of picks 6 and 14 I think it was a positive result. Will check back in see if all is good in about 3 years.
Cheers
