Whilst it's great to see Fish kick 6 goals and a very good chance to play in 2 weeks, I'd be more interested in seeing how he's improved by how many tackles he's laid and from those that were at the game if he applied any real forward pressure.
Someone gets it.:thumbsu:

Agreed. While 6 goals is a good effort its a big step up from VFL to AFL and Fish goes to ground too easily when contesting for a ground ball, doesn't lay tackles and isn't very quick, similar with Houla who while has elite disposal isn't too quick and doesn't lay too many tackles. Can't afford these types of players in our forward line the way the game is currently being played.

Whilst Fisher has some weaknesses which are well known, he is still clearly our 2nd best tall forward option, and certainly takes some pressure and some of the double teaming away from Fevola as certainly last night Fev had virtually two players on him most of the night.

When Robbie Warnock returns in a couple of weeks i wouldn't mind
seeing a forward line like...

Fisher Fevola Betts

Carrazzo Kruezer Bannister

INCLUDE: O'hailpin Garlett Houlihan

RUCKS: Warnock Hampson

very good looking forward line!! :D

The magoo magoos?

Guns expects Ellard to be captain-coach in 2010. Patience.

Everyone has, Collingwood did. Gilly says he's too slow.
I will be coach and president Ellard captain

How long until one of Ellard or Hartlett get a run always named in the best...well most weeks.
A ridiculous situation
2 blokes with things to offer
Ellard has skill and a fire in the belly
Cloke has size that few on our list have
Believe in them, back them or cut them adfrift
Both could be valuable
I know many of you say Ellard is too small Cloke not skillfull enough
Forget what they cannot do and think what they can do
Fans have a mindset that expects every player is Judd - they are not
Both these 2 are players that could do a lot for the Blues. That need confidence and a shot at the big time again.
If you disagree you have not watched them enough. Ellard and Cloke when they play well are easily AFL standard. They just need to keep the bar high!

Just on the Robinson incident:
I didnt see it but i saw Rohan Bail lying down on the ground and Robinson running away from the area. At the half time break the casey scorpions coach walked past the Bullants group and shouted:

Your a dirty fu**en Mongrel Robinson, you weak C***. We will fu**ing hunt you down you weak peace of sh**.

Robinson just looked at him and said F*** you.

Sounds like the Scorps Coach saw the incident was appaled by it.

When i was leaving i walked past the coach and his wife and she appeared to quietly ask him about the incident to which he replyed: "was an absoloute disgraceful act".

I heard it was a punch to the gut

I don't condone any cheap shots, infact I hate it with a passion. Lowest part of our game. But I do love Robbo's attitude in that he definately gives everything a go and comes out all guns blazing. If it was a cheap shot, hopefully he can just learn to funnel his aggression correctly. Either way, for his first year you've gotta be pretty happy with the way he's gone about it

No, Fisher is to slow see if he performs next round in the VFL than give him a go. (to slow in the sense that Essendon has a running game.)

It wasn't that long ago we had a fat captain who would kick in for 1-2 goals a game but was a liability as his man would run off hi at will.

Fisher was dropped.....and Garlett picked, not because of their forward/goal kicking capabilities, but because of the pressure they can apply to their man.

Ratts ethos - tackle or die. Fisher may have kicked 6, but did he lay a tackle on his man. Thats what Ratts will look for otherwise, yes, vs Dons they will (again :() carve us up coming out of half back.

Secondly, our forward line is working quite well. Fev kicks 2, we kick 16.

Would rather leave Fisher out knowing we'll get some defensive pressure unless he has done something about it (got quicker in a a week?)

Doesn't sound like Christmas cards will be exchanged here:p

Who is this coach with the gutter mouth? Sounds like he would be right at home in the streets of Casey.

Does anyone think there is a link to Fevola's 14 goals in 2 weeks and Fish being in the side? The foward line seems to work a bit better when he is in the side, well at least it does for Fev. And then last night it was back to shit

It could be a coincidence but something to think of

Wasn't it 14.11 to 16.8?

25 scoring shots to 24.

Other than accuracy (which adding Fisher will make worse, not better) how is that shit?

95 points against a side that after 11 games was conceeding 58 per game.

Facts. Sometimes they can just hit you right in the face.

Bring back the biff!

Carlton needs more players like Joseph and Robinson who will have a crack. :thumbsu:

It reminds me of a story I heard about Fraser Brown and Simon Atkins(I think).

Atkins and Brown were standing next to each other.

A Carlton supporter looked away for a second before returning his gaze to Brown and Atkins. Brown was the only player who was on two feet and wasn't holding his face on the ground. :D

Bring back the biff!
