Well that was pathetic. I'm tipping Bolton be gone at the bye. This can't continue and players aren't playing for him. Otherwise he just plainly can't coach.

Alot of people on here in the pre season saying we didn't have deadwood anymore etc and were naming players we have let go to show how good the list is. Well I told them at the time we still have some deadwood. Fasolo has taken the 3 yrs and guaranteed wage, was cooked at the pies and gladly took the money. Lang is useless, always has been and I called it when we got him. Definition of dead wood.

Then add in Kennedy and Newman. Kennedy you can see why he was in the vfl. Not afl quality, in fact doesn't have one aspect of his game that is afl quality. Doesn't get the ball, slow, **** user, can't tackle or chase. Dead wood. As for Newman, Sydney supporters would be laughing. For anything good he does he will cost us a goal with a brainfade or turnover. sometimes those who are 'good' kicks try to kick the perfect pass or the impossible and stuff it up. That is him.

Dows kicking is a clear sign of what is wrong at the club. Player development is non existent. His kicking has not improved one iota.

The biggest indictment today was cripps. He has given up. I could imagine the calls if it was Murphy and he was still captain. Don't get me wrong, I understand why he would feel that way but today and the last few weeks have been not good enough. Mentally shot.

Usual suspects playing **** footy in Fisher, Dow, SPS. Cuningham and silvagni try but don't do enough or just make dumb errors. Plowman had a good 1st half but in the end got overwhelmed by their entries.

Our game plan of kick long to 3 talks doesn't work and essendon just put more men in that area and dominated.

Good players - kruezer, weitering, casboult, stocker, Charlie 2nd half. Setterfield was good at times and ed was ok in a tagging role.

2 more losses and Bolton has to go. I'm converted but I don't know what great coaching option is available?

i want to keep him for one more week, because brisbane are gonna annihilate us at marvel. that ground suits teams that move the ball quickly and they're great at that and we might be the worst team of all time at it. that will be a 50-70 points loss and that's when bolton needs to go.

let's save our 'new coach high' for a game we have a chance of winning which will be the bulldogs the week after.

The club as a whole is NOT broken.

There is no need to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

People like Andrew Russell, SOS, Agrestra, even Dale Amos are all part of the solution.

It is pretty obvious now that:

- Coach (Bolts) and most of the assistant (Barker, Teague, Stanton) are hopeless

- Midfield demographics are killing us at the moment

This is Bulldogs (McCartney) situation. It can be solved if we get a better conductor.

Port Adelaide / Primus comes to mind too.

No idea if getting a new coach / coaching group will fix anything .. maybe it is the players? But the club has been driven into a corner now by these performances. It simply has to act ... we have 2020 to worry about and there are three main groups we need to sell hope to:

1) Members
2) Existing players
3) Players we hope to lure through trade / free agency (unlikely)

Unfortunately there are only 2 ways to generate hope from where we are at. One would be winning/improvement but that isn't happening. The other is change.

Half way through the season and I've been to 8 games live.

Every time I see boys against men. The difference is stark. Especially around the middle. Opposition now know if they target Cripps heavily we are in big trouble. Cripps today wasn't only tagged but hit from everywhere and no one helped him. No one blocks or heavily takes out a player. Not good enough. What is also an issue is the more mature players in Curnow Lang Plowman Fasolo, Newmans ball use were poor. Makes it bloody hard

The talent is there but it desperately needs help especially on ball. Very disappointed in Kennedy today.

One player I have nearly had enough of is Plowman. His positioning and lack of physicality is poor. I don't think he is a very good defender. Needs to go back to 2's and tried in another role. He's a mature player and doesn't do enough and makes too many mistakes and gets beaten way too often.

Positives: I liked SPS off HB. Stocker showing his class. Defence lead by Weitering did a good job despite midfield struggles. Setterfield just needs fitness. Walsh, Kruezer good

Nailed it in this post. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Like many of the posters here have said that performance was numbingly bad. We as a team could not score more goals than Laverde and Baguley combined that is so sad.
The poor foot skills causing tunrover after turnover are just painful to watch.
I liked Stockers game today he has the game and a bit of mongrel in him and I think we will enjoy putting some hurt on players when he adds some kilos.
The players we have traded in/acquired from other clubs are looking like such poor decisions. I have reservations about all of our ex GWS players and if the majority of them are busts that is a lot of currency we traded away to get them in. Lang and Fasolo also just wasting a spot on the list.
The most concerning thing was the apprarent lack of effort fom the captain today. I hope that he has not given upor been borken because if that is the case then the future is bleakness personified.

I wish I didnt care so much. But I probably care too much. I wonder how much happier a person I would be if we could just win a few games.

I’ve been backing bolts all year. But now I’m not so sure. Surely this can’t be all coaching related though!?

I dunno. I ******* hate essendon

Took the words right out of my mouth

I’ll put this as simply as I can.
When Crippa has given up on field and Doc has given up from the bench, you know that the driver, whether he be in box or at ground level, has lost control of the bus and needs to be replaced before the vehicle runs off the road and into a tree.

Not to be that guy, but I am hearing rumours that Bolton has been sacked. Not the strongest of sauces but still enough credibility to make me wonder. Anyone else heard anything?

I don’t think Bolton getting sacked now (and presumably having Barker in as caretaker) is an improvement. But he certainly deserves the heat, as does imo SOS and yes, the entire coaching panel. Any new coach should be given free reign to assemble their team of assistants.
Not Barker, I would try Amos for something different - the defense has been OK considering AND he has been a senior coach

I hoped our midfield would be competitive today. However, Cripps, Dow, Walsh, Kennedy etc are just woefully inexperienced as a group, while Dow, Walsh, Fisher etc are just not in men's bodies yet. Merrett, Heppell, Zaharakis etc are seasoned men whose have played years together.
We did not address our lack of midfield experience last year.
