I fully expect to get thumped but If we got 2022 GF Dangerfield, with the rest of the team playing at their round 1-7 level - we would be in with a red hot shot. Both are unlikely which is why I'm not expectant. But ya never know.
I will expect us to get thumped all week. Until game time and I will trick myself into thinking we are a chance just to get angry during the game!

The Swans will beat us soundly this week, so there's no point in playing guys if they're still a bit iffy injury-wise. I'd even rest Hawkins and Duncan this week, so they have a two-week break. Play Mannagh, Clark, and Blicavs. Drop Mullin, Hawkins (rest), and Duncan (rest).

Hawkins and Duncan both had a rest two weeks ago.

Back to reality this week i think. Grundy will smash whoever we throw out there, and their midfield will dominate us. This will be compounded by our selection, which will expose our own weakness instead of try and mitigate it.

Ill beat the drum until our season is over that i hope we see some clearance and stoppage players being brought in. Hardie, Clark, Mannagh, you could probably even name a couple more from the VFL, nevermind Danger and Guthrie, although i expect much less from them now. However, based on Scotts comments from last Fridays press conference i expect to see Mullin and MOC given more CBA's which will, as usual against good teams, blow up in our face.

I will also say again that Hawkins has no place in the best 23 now. Im not sure what his upside is for the team now, but his downside is massive. Watching from behind the goals on Saturday night, it's obvious how little respect defenders pay to him when we dont have the ball. The ease with which they run off him into dangerous positions while Hawkins is just left on his own in no mans land was shocking.

Also, one final note to Chris Scott: Jeremy Cameron is not Isaac Smith. Enough with taking your best forward and playing him up the ground and hoping you turn him into a genuine winger. At this point it is starting to reek of desperation and an inability to think outside the box. It might have worked a couple of years ago with vastly different players. Now you are just robbing Peter to pay Paul. Cameron is the best forward in the game, play him there.

Youve got to be kidding

That overhead mark he took in the last qtr , that was highly impressive , and youd swear he had been playing Australian rules for the last 10 years , plus hes quick , very quick , i think there is a lot of upside in Mulin , so you keep playing him

You only have to look at Dempsey ( and to be honest last year i didnt think he would make it ) the improvement in him this season , hes also quick and a very neat and technically correct kick

Some posters dont rate pace , my view is , if you are a good player then being quick is a massive advantage

I'm expecting little out of Guthrie this year now and it should be considered to this week with Rohan he's had very few good games V his old side he does look to go into his shell abit against them.
I feel like that was just that one time against Sydney. I think he's played good games against them mostly after that

What if I told you we hadn't lost a single game when MOC has attended a centre bounce?

Or that over 50% of Mullin's centre bounce attendances this year were against Port Adelaide in the period when we came back from 49 points down to get within a kick?

I’m calling the swans pretenders! Absolutely first half of year June champions and destined for a top 4 finish as it sits, but we all know they won’t get it done when it matters…..
Don't .
But then again, what we post has no impact on results.

As I was saying to CatToTheFuture on the Oppo board.

Geez they are very confident over there on the Swans board, talking about winning by 110, 60+ blah blah blah
Before the game has even been played. You’d have thought Geelong are forfeiting with all the wankfest going on.
Would be a real shame if someone came along and ruined their little June Premiership party…

All the expectations on them, Cats going in as major underdogs (how often does that ever happen?)
Would be the perfect time for Jez, Stewy, Stengle and the like to show some AA level form.
Even Hawk turning back the clock like when he pantsed them in front of 100k on Grand Final day.
Jump them from coming off the Bye and leave them stunned once again.

You’d have thought with seeing how many teams get off to blistering starts only to falter when it matters that they’d keep the lid on it.
We’ve seen multiple teams hit this point and hit a bad patch. Their bad patch is coming they just haven’t hit it yet.
Would be the perfect time to jump them.
We have absolutely no rights to win this….except what happens if we do win ;)

Who cares what they think. Its June. They'll be lucky to make the gf. And if we play again in the gf irrespective of this weekends result we'll smash them by 110 pts again and send them back to the stone age.

This is the part where you leave in the rest of what I said that is all that matters in this game.

Good thing it has no impact on results. You'd have us losing to the bye... Or even worse. North!

The last 5 weeks have me fearing this one.

Yes, we won last week, but damn....it was bloody hard yakka against a team that'd only won one game to date. It's also concerning they apparently showed little hunger from the opening bounce, despite the 4 losses preceding it.

Not very convincing.
Whoever posted that we are getting back on top when the heat is out of the game was spot on. Best analysis of what has been happening that I have seen here (or anywhere for that matter)

IF we can hang in we might be a chance. IF PFD plays we will be more of a chance of hanging in there. But they are a scary midfield at the moment.

Any value throwing Rohan into the guts for a while for speed and intensity. Pretty out there idea but who knows?
