Right, after the disappointment of the Lions game we have to go to Sydney and play the GWS, the flag favorites. It's early in the season and upsets at this stage are common. (i think Melbourne beat GWS in round 1 last year).

Swallow should be back which could be a kickstarter to getting our season on track (we've been shit since he got injured.) Mckenzie, Brodie, Fiorini and Harbrow are the other frontrunners to play i would say. Schonefeld, Lemmens and Bowes i would say are the most likely to get dropped.

It's going to be a close season and as we saw at the end of last year, we can push the Giants. We certainly play better as the underdog.

The Giants are coming off a lose (it looks like) so they will be looking to bounce back.

If Mckenzie does play it will be his 100th game.

As long as we can bring our A-game, I'm hopeful we can run away with it

We seem to always get pantsed as the favourite

Sounds like Shiel is ok, hopefully GWS rest him next week, precautionary and that...

Stevie J I'm tipping to bring out his bag of tricks against the team that had the chance to sign him, rocket instead calling him 'surplus to our requirements' or something along those lines.

GWS looked bang average. Heat hopefully will cause them some serious fatigue. A few of their top quality missing.

Swallow to come back in for Schoenfeld. Lemmons couldn't cut it in the backline, looked ok forward, but would be surplus to requirement up there. So perhaps another defender, Mckenzie perhaps, maybe Brodie, we will see.

I love Dave Swallow but saying we have been sh*t w/o him is a fallacy, might as well say we've been sh*t w/o O'Meara or Prestia.

He is tough and makes our mid look much stronger but there is no I in team. Gaz has taught the next gen their skills in the mid, as much as many of you, so called Suns supporters, slam him; and 2 of the best have moved on. Mark them, O'Meara & Prestia.

Fiorini should absolutely get a game if he is fit. Brodie was 1 of my top 10 selections and played well in the JLT despite Rocket declaring he would be behind the 8ball.

With Will, I think maybe there are other lessons he needs to learn, no reflection on his talent/skills.

GWS have a good balance of age and youth, would think they are looking long term so early season losses are more for the younguns to learn from.

I'm not saying Swallow's ability will completely transform our side i'm just saying our luck might change once he's finally back i wasn't being that serious though.

As long as we are genuinely competitive this week I can deal with that. GWS will be hard to beat and everyone knows it, but as long as we make sure Round 1 was an anomaly and that we can actually match it with the good sides I will remain optimistic.

Would like to see at least 2 of Swallow, Fiorini, Brodie and McKenzie get games this week as well

Harbrow to surely come in this week. Has done his minutes in the 2s and will slot straight in. I thought he looked good in the practice game yesterday.

Does Swallow come straight in? Does anyone know the severity of the rolled ankle?

Not enough time for McKenzie to come back in which is a shame. He normally blankets Stevie J very well.

I wouldn't mind Lemmens sitting on someone like Heath Shaw or Zac Williams as a purely defensive forward. He did offer something as a defensive forward I thought when he was switched up there. Put Sexton on the other rebounding defender.

Witts should get hands on the ball much more than Mumford at being 10cm taller than him. Ideally that should help give us some first use.

it just gets from bad to worse..... do u think that he will be back to AFL or stay back in Ireland for good?

Swallow and Brodie In for Hanley and Schoenfeld should be a no brainer, need the contested ball bulls in for this game, keep harbrow out another week, can't afford his turnovers in this game, Trent played good in the 2nds, but might need another week

Trent is never going to get to 100 games!

Monumental effort by Pearce to even play after learning of his brother's condition. Was visibly distraught after the game. Prayers for the young boy and his family.

Do you think Matt Shaw might come back in for Hanley?
Surprisingly we looked a little slow on the weekend and he does provide pace alongside his glaring deficiencies
On GWS, undoubtedly their top-end talent is exquisite, but any team that can find a slot for Tendai M'Zungu has a few issues in their bottom 6 IMO
