I was surprised by that. He certainly stepped up in the last quarter. It wasn't based on his overall game. He had 20 disposals at efficiency of 45% including 4 turnovers, and 3 tackles. However, 8 score involvements and 6 centre clearances would guarantee some votes.
I recommend you watch the game, not the stats sheet.

He was best on field by the length of the straight.

Sadly looks like Hawk is done and wont make it back for a farewell last round

Ah that's sh*t luck for the big fella. And SDK popped his patella and won't be back until finals either. Double dose of glum there.

According to Champion Data, Mannagh has rated 'elite' across his last six games for AFL Player Ratings points (14.5 per game), contested possessions (8.2), pressure points (58.8) and tackles (5.8).

In terms of his AFL Player Ratings points – Champion Data's most definitive statistic to measure influence on a game – Mannagh's average of 14.5 rates just fractionally outside the top 20 players across the entire competition within that period.

Champion Data also points out that Mannagh rates 'above average' for disposals (16.2 per game), score assists (1.2), score involvements (5.0) and goals (1.2) since his impressive return to the Geelong side.

Mannagh's campaign has been an interrupted one. After making his AFL debut as a substitute in round one, he then played a full game in round two before being dropped to the VFL where he spent a large portion of his season.

But, despite that, his average of 12.7 AFL Player Ratings points across the entire year still ranks him No.2 among all forwards across the competition. Only Adelaide star Izak Rankine (17.3) rates higher for influence.

It also puts Mannagh clear of All-Australian contenders like Hawthorn's Dylan Moore (12.5), Geelong teammate Tyson Stengle (11.9), Melbourne's Kysaiah Pickett (11.8) and Brisbane's Cam Rayner (11.8) among general forwards.

A large part of Mannagh's influence is sourced through his pressure. Since his return to Cats coach Chris Scott's plans, his 58.8 pressure points per game mixes it with the League's best pressure players.
Becoming as reliable as Stengle and in terms of talent seems as good footy brain.. just magical stuff

I think it'll just be Rohan for O Henry and SDK for Bruhn. Blicavs to push into midfield with SDK down back.

Mullin did enough in that last quarter to be the break glass option for finals. When the heat was on he got into great spots and read the ball well. Made a couple of blunders too but I'd back Mullin over Knevitt, Clark, Parfitt, Bews, etc right now.

That's still only number 25 on the list behind the starting 22 from last week plus SDK and Rohan so a fair bit has to go wrong for him you get a game. Might even be behind MOC and Guthrie is they can get fit.
Mullins a liability. Why they dropped bews for him is dumb founding!

They didn't

Bews was omitted with Duncan returning

Based on info from those who are pretty on these things, Mullins inclusion was a tactical one purely to play as sub - he replaced Rohan in the final team

I guess we need one of Rohan or O. Henry in the side as the mid size option in the forward 50. Is it too late to go without them both or would that help the defensive unit of the opposition too much?
We need that third target as Neale even with him being impressive still needs time to grow and Cameron isn't a traditional marking target which is what OH and Rohan bring.

His name is Mullin and he really isn't. He made some mistakes and did a couple of nice things. He's definitely not the finished product but he can play a role if absolutely needed.

Bews was dropped because he was playing a lockdown role and his opponent was clearly the oppositions best player while beating Bews repeatedly.

Hoyney on SEN rates the cats game this week as one of his ‘get it done’ games.
Also mentioned that we are bottom 3-4 for scores off turnovers and only scored 3-4 goals in the last 3 games each time from turnovers. Our forwards need to improve on that to get past a prelim according to Hoyney.
Yeah if Jez doesn’t fire then asking Neale, O. Henry / Rohan to step up is a watch….

Any inside word about specifically what the week to week rehab has been looking like for Cam Guth? Has he been observed training intensively?
