White shouldn't get a gig ahead of a young kid like McDonald considering he has been clogging our list for 5-6 years and still can't cut it.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne Team Discussion

If we win by, say 15, how much does Melbourne need to win by to get 9th?

my crude maths tells me there would need to be more than a 60 point diff in results for Melb to bridge the gap. something tells me that port will put up a spirited last game at HOME after a promising performance last week

If we win by ~15. Melbourne would need to win by around 60+ to get ahead of us I think.
Hmmmmm. Not beyond the realms, but I expect Port, at the Adelaide Oval to probably beat the Demons and get off the bottom.

When he gets a few bogs at the magoos...he's welcome to come into the side...till then...whiteys the man...

That's actually fair enough. I just assumed he was going well at Coburg... he needs to earn a spot. Most supporters don't mind him coming in solely because its a new face but its not a precedent to set to have players get games in the seniors when they don't deserve it.

Although I guess it has already been set. Gotta laugh at Hardwick saying that a winning culture is more important that draft picks etc.. Team selections throughout the year hasn't really backed that quote up.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne Team Discussion

Maybe. But has Whitey been getting any best ons there? Just curious?

Fair call...

But he does have 5 years of Afl experience and game time...played a solid 14 games last year...

He brings a hardened Afl body to the side...fitness wise whitey can play out a full Afl game...

One of the fastest runners in the Afl...

Can play back or forward...and understands Dimmas 'game plan'...

Now compare that to McDonald's youthful fresh face and promise...his only assets at the moment...

If your serious about not 'tanking' and wanting to develope a 'winning culture' at Tigerland as Hardwick so publicly stated...

Then until McDonald starts winning BOG's in the ressies and starts to show something other than youthfull promise...

Then Whitey is stll your man...otherwise you are 'gifting' games which is just as insidious a cancer to a club's 'winning culture' as 'Tanking'...

Nup, Matt hasn't cracked the best once in the VFL. But as JAKLAUGHING said above, he is experienced, fit and the sole reason why he is in is because he will perform a lock down roll on one of their shorties.

That first quarter "umpiring" was discraceful. Tuck's quick handpass deemed a throw when clearly a handpass, head high tackle (don't argue) against Martin was laughable, Harvey drops the ball afer being tackled lead to a goal, and Foley's tackle in the middle was unrewarded.

Morton can't play loose man in defence. Nahas pounced on his opportunities. Just have to wait to get the run and carry going out of defence.

Jack takes a ripper near the edge of the square and he is put on a rediculous angle - but he kicks the goal.

Delidio was having some attention on his hand / wrist.

North players are not being pinged for throwing the ball. Almost another North goal fron incorrect disposal.

Jack with his third. Mids on top. Tackling is supreme this quarter.
