I am not sure about the hate for VDM this season. Sure, last season but I feel he has been better this season with his ball handling not totally convinced he should be in but it is borderline and understand him maintaining his spot in the team.

When a player like JUH takes time out for ‘personal reasons’ is he now tarred with the accusations that many are now asking because of the AFL’s inability to ask the tough questions and confront them? It’s not fair on any who miss games this way and don’t play ‘Russian roulette’ with their careers.
Jamarra's back home in Warrnambool for whatever the personal reasons are. If there are accusations, it's from idiots.

I think Sanders needs a gig in the VFL. Don't have to overthink it, it's merely on form and flexibility.

Garcia can play forward, Sanders can't. Richards can play back, Sanders can't. Harms can play forward/flank/wing, Sanders can't. Even Macrae, who wasn't picked because he couldn't spend time outside being an onballer, only attended 10 of the centre bounces on the weekend.

If people want flexibility in the middle, the solution is pretty simple - pick the players who have proven to play both at and outside the centre bounce.

This is where pulling guys out for drug reasons and saying ‘personas reasons’ muddies the waters for all the legitimate reasons. AFL have made this their own.

Solid effort in the VFL but nobody really demanding selection, particularly after a big win against the saints.

Give Sanders a run in the VFL, Libba in. Bramble, Harmes or Gallagher sub.

Very much sounded like Marra would be unavailable from Bevo's post match presser.

If VDM is out, Clarke debut. Please no more McNeil.

Our defence KOTD for the 3rd week in a row. Oppo's best fwd is out. We should be winning if we break even in the centre.
Taberner is likely to return next week so they will have at least one big forward playing. Jackson will take a bit of watching as well now that Darcy's back. Wouldn't underestimate a desperate team needing redemption on their home deck.

Agree, he really needs to be encouraged to take the game on more especially for the position he's playing. The VFL is the best place for him at the moment to build some confidence.

Now that Macrae is fit and in form Sanders isn't keeping him out on his exposed contributions.

Richards has added a speed and strength dimension to the midfield that we haven't had but have been desperately looking for. We need continued investment in him there.

Garcia has worked diligently (consistently), is quickish, reasonably seasoned and combative.

Time for Sanders to do some hard yards

The effect of being under the pump. The dons were under the pump and fired up when we played them and got the win. We were under the pump against the saints and fired up. The dockers will be under the pump after their loss to WCE. We can expect a fired up dockers hopefully we perform better than we did against the bombers.

I think people are seriously underrating what Sanders has done and how good he has been for a 19 year old.

RD 1 v Melbourne (Subbed out in the 3rd)
15 disposals
2 tackles
68 ranking points

RD 2 vs Suns
22 disposals at 86%
5 tackles
78 ranking points

RD 3 vs Eagles
20 disposals at 75%
6 tackles (2nd most in the game)
85 ranking points

RD 4 vs Geelong
23 disposals at 73%
6 tackles
84 ranking points

RD 5 vs Bombers (subbed out early in 3rd)
8 disposals at 100%
5 tackles
39 ranking points

RD 6 vs Saints (played the 4th quarter)
5 disposals at 80%
2 tackles
22 ranking points

He has been subbed out twice and the sub once (which is fair cause of fitness). I believe he’s overall performance has been good though.

We should definitely be developing his game in the 1s but if Bevo is going to sub him / start as sub then I’d be happy with him getting full games in the 2s.

I rate Sanders as a future star but it's time for him to dominate VFL for a couple of rounds

Get full match time into him and be the number 1 inside mid

Out: Sanders
In: Libba
Sub: Vanders

Why would they be dropping Sanders? They’re easing him into the top level.

Amiss missing is big, but as noted by other posters it brings Taberner back in.

In: Libba
Out: Gallagher (rested)
