I liked Cunners in the middle, I really did.
I’m loving JSOS atm - he really is a heart and soul player. Did some really clever things today in and around our F50.
Great learnings for Walsh playing on Sidebottom.
Thought Gibbons did some good things.
Stocker showed plenty and will be a good player for us - keep playing him!
Of the more seasoned players Marchbank, Brackets, Murph and Crippa.
Cas did well today.
We are so much better with Kruze in the side.
Lots of undeniable ****ing green shoots today even if sick of the term...
Bit more composure at the end and we win.

Bolton coached very, very well today.

Just a game of ******* inches - heartbreaking.

Genuinely shattered after that one. Can usually tell when we look like we will trail off for another ‘honorable loss’ but today I was sensing something very different.

Haven’t been this flat post-game since 2011 semi.
serious?

You're upset that Bolts didn't rip into the umps? Where would that have got him?

Senior and respected coaches have a way to criticize umps without causing offeñce but enough to put a little pressure on to perform. Example, clarkson calling for professional umpires.

He could have simply stated that some crucial frees were missed.

Shattered but I'm calling it now - Blues will play finals next year.

This team is growing enormously and has so much upside. To outplay last year's grand finalist and one of the 2 standout teams of this year so far is huge, regardless of the result. All the result showed was that Collingwood have more polish.
And much better lobbyists to the umpiring department.

That one hurt. Then again I’ve said that to myself after 3 other losses this season. A loss like that will hurt the players and drive them all to have the belief we are on the right track and to trust the process.

I’m going to looking at the club from a half glass full POV after today’s game:

a) We are right in games this year and not getting blown away as we were in the last 2 years
b) The talent of players we have is really starting to show as they themselves grow and mature
c) Forward line is starting to gel as a result of growth and the inclusion of McGovern
d) Midfield is looking slick with Setterfield, SPS, Dow and Walsh in there. (If anyone can tell me where Kennedy is at that would be much appreciated). The more games they all play, the better we will be.
e) Defence is solid. Allows us to rebound rather than concede.

These positives allow me to keep my head up and smile after losses like we just had. Hope it helps others.

Go blues!

Frustrated on three fronts.
How many times we were not paid free kick for our players being held was beyond a joke. Pies got at least two goals out of times we should have got a free kick. To hear after the game we only got 8 free kicks confirmed how inconsistent the umpiring was. They got way more than just rub of the green. They got a green light to just hold onto players without penalty so many times.

However, despite that against us we still had chances to win even with them getting great run with umpiring on their side.
Frustrated when we 11 points up and had momentum to go further ahead we put on the breaks and slowed down our play.
I am unsure if that was a coaching direction or a young team still not sure how to finish off other teams when you got them where you want them.
I suspect it was just in-experience. I can forgive that but very frustrating with well over 10 minutes on the clock some youngsters think less than two goal lead is probably enough to play safe.

The third is just a general frustration team selection continues to have us at least one running player short due to obsession to go so tall again. Cuningham needs one or two partners in crime to cut holes in opposition with speed and dash. I am sure if we had one less tall and one more quick running player we would have got even further ahead when we had momentum.

Overall though, least the young guys showed enough signs they will learn to get more and more out of their shell and take game on. We look really dangerous when Curnow, McKay and Silvagni spread in different directions up forward.
Was a real worry last year Cuningham just going to be injured too long and lose some important development years but he really looks well on track to keep in step with the other 2015 draftees that look more and more confident out there as a group. If Russell can bring back Pickett next year I am going to be very excited.

The boys showed good spirit today which was good to see after such a crap performance last week.
Keep working together and learn to play games out and we will make real steps up the ladder in next 18 months.
Go Blues!!

So by suggesting that umpires have a hard job, he has in fact acknowledged that we were on the receiving end of some dubious calls today. Subtlety is underrated.

I'll tell you who is a disgrace. It would be the person who started another website to compete with BigFooty when the Blue View was shut down, and for some reason has a bee in his bonnet about me stepping in to reopen it at the time, as requested by the person who shut it down.

I've been nothing but cordial to you but you made several cheap shots towards me. I am at a loss to know what your problem is.

There is one way to ignore my posts on this board at least. Don't let the green eyed door hit you on the arse on the way out.
Yeah👍🏽

We're so so so close.

Another year of development, another preseason, and a quality midfield recruit and we're there.
I don't wish to rain on your (our) parade but I think we've heard that several times in the past two decades. Our end of season form since 2000....coach (Wayne Brittain) heralded by other coaches (sacked), a super coach Denis Pagan (sacked), coach, Brett Ratten, taking us to the finals (sacked), a second super coach (Mick Malthouse) another wooden spoon/sacked, Brendan Bolton.....jury is out (but the knives are being sharpened).

Just imagine the reception the umpires would receive from the collingwood fans if those decisions stats were reversed.

Apparently it wouldn't have mattered. Collingwood would have got the victory anyway, because the Umpires 'did not influence the result'. Kudos would then be afforded the Maggies who won despite having given away a free kick differential of 3 to 1. And especially as we would have scored 24 points in the last qtr from non - decisions
