Those 3 were very good 200 game players , and Thompson was an Ess prem capt

Clarkson is the only one in your list who you can compare to Skipworth , just absolute battlers and no good at all
They were good as in solid good.

But honestly, who cares whether Skipworth was good or a battler? What's relevant is whether the guy can coach.

From all of those involved with the Geelong footy club and those that are not, we all wish him a speedy recovery.

He will get all of the support he needs. I would be pleased to mow his lawn

I had visions of him leaving the club and returning in 5 or so years as our head coach.

Sounds like he won’t be going to West Coast. Hoping all is well on the health front, but great to keep him around for another year.

The interesting bit of news in the last 48hours is that Scarlett has reportedly sounded out an assistant coaching gig should King get the role out west

With King or with Geelong?

I thought Scarlett was one of the ones who basically white anted King when he was captain. I'd be surprised if we went back to him too after he burnt some bridges with his last assistant stint.
