Yep it’s all about money. Families aren’t built on money , but values ,trust, honour, loyalty, respect , love etc etc.
There is also the flip side TI

Maybe he was in a broken relationship for 10+ years and decided to stick it out until the kids were older and not reliant on their father
You need to respect a man that stays in these situations to make sure it doesnt impact the family unit at a delicate time.

Maybe we should also accept that he was truly of the belief that he was causing the Richmond football club a disservice by staying and stopping it from investigating a better option and by leaving early showing loyalty to his assistants and the club in giving them max time to do the research and interview's before other clubs are also in the market

He left $1.5 mil on the table , Would have been easy just to drift along and collect the cash as he would always get another 5 year deal after he finished his contract

Hardwick has already come out and said he wants to coach in 2024 I have a funny feeling he had lost the players and he jumped ship instead of being sacked

Of course that's how it went down, but here I await, bracing for the attack should anything other than a fairytale farewell for Hardwick be broached.
You don't lose you passion one week and rediscover it the next - unless you're moving from dating one supermodel to another.

If true then he’s a dishonest and disloyal a-hole as he’s basically done the same thing to us as he did to his wife.
I dont post on here much but this is bullshit and i cant help myself.

This wasn't what he said... he said he would be lying if he said he wasnt interested in doing it again. Nothing about 2024. Which while interesting isn't exactly shocking.

After listening to his episode on the Dyl and Friends podcast if anything it elevated my respect towards him for not only the successes, but also
the honesty to pull the pin when he was feeling burnt out and perhaps felt he was not the right person to lead the charge moving forward.

Ever felt burnt out at a job only to take the exact same or very similar role at another workplace? Pretty sure most if not all of us have and been better off for the change. Why would it be any different for an AFL coach?

It's really a win/win for all parties, we're playing better, have money in the soft cap, players get a new voice, Dimma gets the break he needs and potentially a new challenge in the future.. where's the problem in that (even if it is in 2024)?

Maybe, Maybe, but it didn't like that in 2017. lol

Hey dude chill as I didn't mention about 2024. All I said was IF TRUE. Literacy and comprehension are invaluable when on forums and when these skills are lost or deficient you generally end up with egg on your face.

You just want to believe that because it’s suits your bottom feeder narrative. Only have to look at the quality of the posters agreeing
All this post tells me is your level of education in grade 6 English or you just have a personal vendetta against me. Very sad really , so sad I feel sorry for you.

I'll teach you a rule of thumb in a simple two word word in the English language as I've won two legal battles with it. One used against me and one where I saved a friend from having a criminal record which his lawyers didn't pick up until I mentioned it to them at the interval.
Around 10YRS AGO I received a letter from the biggest software co. in the world basically stating IF I had been using illegal software .............rararara. I went to seek legal advice from my good retired lawyer and client. He said you have 2 options , the first is to ignore it and see if they reply again or secondly to sue them for damages. All i will say we won the case within half an hour bc of their lawyers using the 2 letter word.
The Second case was a friend did a job for a $26MIL TYCOON WHICH INVOLVED USING an employer credit card. The BIGBOY was trying to claim that my good friend had misused his card and stole from him so was suing for damages and to have my friend sentenced with a criminal record. Somewhere in his testimony he stated I only said you can use my card IF my workers were on the payroll. My friend wasn't on the payroll, but he'd used the card many times prior for his private work and had records of payments. He won the case hands down bc the fool said the magic word. IF people ignore this word no matter what the level of education in debate is, then they are at their own peril. I deliberately use it all the time now to sort out the chalk from the cheese or the hay from the fodder. By you quoting me you lost your argument and credibility as a poster. By the way your username says it you're a bush lawyer;):):moustache:

Maybe Damien got a big long term offer from a rival club and Richmond couldn't match it so they all decided on the best course of action together.

Who knows. The thing is all parties seem very happy with where things sit, and one thing no Richmond supporter should ever be doing is complaining about D. Hardwick's contribution to our club.

Not sure why anyone is surprised Dimma has said he wants to coach again. He was always going to. The players clearly still love him. Would he be pumping up the club pissed in a US bar 2 weeks after he left if he left on a sour note? Or attended Cotchins 300th?

He had just taken this list as far as he could, that's plain to see. The fact he realized that himself and did the best thing by the club and stepped away speaks volumes of the man.

Just listened to the podcast with Dimma , pretty good , two takes
The succession plan is very much a thing at Richmond and Dimma regretted not deflecting enough heat from george , he blamed the scorn from social media wearing him down and abruptly walking away

, quite a bit of small talk ,,, there was a bit before 2018 Pf I need to re listen that was interesting

Just for interest two weeks after KDH retirement he was pumping up the Tigers and carrying on like a 16yo kid with lines like 40 new members Chief and other love love for us, yet he had the desires to coach again. LOL WHY DIDN'T HE STAY AT TIGERLAND IF HE STILL HAD THE PASSION?:think:o_O:cool::moustache:;)

...because he'd taken this list as far as he could? It's widely accepted that after around 10 years as head coach the message starts to fade.

Change is as good as a holiday as they say.
