Autopsy Richmond v Port

Hinkley doing a great job defending Dr Mark Fisher who has been with the club for 25 years re no concussion issues.

As he basically said, do you have more experience than him to question him?

Dick head journalists worried about the look and because of lots of blood, didnt look good. More journos trying to win a Martin Luther King award.

The Ken Hinkley apologists continue.

David King on Fox Footy tonight post-match-
"Damian Hardwick has the luxury of having soo many different players he can throw in different positions. I feel for Ken Hinkley because I think he's betting with a different hand- A lower hand if you like. He didn't have the same luxuries".

Montagna-
"Nah that's right! The role players that Dimma has at his disposal that he can move around...

The commentators never question why our structure is soo consistently shit. They never question why we chose to go in without a designated ruck. They just sweep it under the carpet and claim that Richmond won because they have more talented players. It is what is, but I guess that explains why teflon Ken is still rated as a coach despite his lack of success!
david king is a dumbass. actually worse than that. he is thug. who likes to beat up on junior country players.

Would have never said those things about a Melbourne club - typical beating up on interstaters.

LOL - think it was Bassett who said pre-game that we didn’t pick Hayes because we needed a win. How did that go?
He’s got a career w-l of 5-2 you idiots.
Bassett said and I quote when asked why we have gone into the game without a recognised ruckman. " We can't do any worse than last week". Duck off Bassett, Davies, Montgomery Hinkley.

Predictable game really. Dragged them down to our level and engaged in a slow, boring slog. Close for most of the game but ultimately outclassed and lose by a couple of goals. How many times have we seen this script play out over the years?

Motlop and Gray had 9 disposals and kicked 0.0 between them. Both probably still match winners on their day but you have to wonder about the use of 30+ match winners in a team sitting 12th on the ladder and going nowhere fast.

Aliir has dropped off massively and is nowhere near the presence he was last year.

Butters has also dropped off and is playing the worst football of his career. His possessions have become really low impact and he's no longer the tough and courageous player he used to be.

Special mention to Frederick for coming on as the sub and having fresh legs in a game that was a dour scrap and managing to literally not get involved at all. That actually takes a special kind of skill, well done.

Nah journos all wank on about the look when any incident where physicality causes a hit, knock, collision etc.

They are all drama queens who live in a perpetual soap opera.

Yeah, Butters has gone from “can do no wrong” to being surprisingly unreliable and uninspiring in the way he plays. His instinct is to crab sideways or backwards and modus operandi is a safe 15m chip kick to a free teammate. It’s all well and good, but he’s hardly having a line-breaking, metres gaining impact.

No doubt the happy clappers will laud the fact that we got close against the odds, which is entirely due to the brilliant mind of Ken Hinkley. Well I'm sick of getting close, without actually getting over the line. We've got close on numerous occasions throughout Hinkley's time at Alberton, and enough is enough. Get rid of him.

Role players.
Ken has had 10 years of relying on individual brilliance of Gray, wingard, Schultz etc. To save his arse so he doesn't need to develop a structure that would allow for said role players

As someone who didn't see the game but looked at the stats, the fact we went in with no ruck, but somehow won the clearances +7, yet still went -16 in inside 50s makes zero sense. It suggests another regular theme in our disconnect between mid to forward was the issue. Our system and players through the middle when moving the ball forward often just don't hit targets and don't hurt the oppo with their touches, whilst our forward line is mediocre at best.

Regardless, on paper, it suggests to me the non selection of Georgiadies was probably a bigger issue than the non selection of Hayes.

Undecided as to whether to bother watching the first 3 qtrs I never saw.

Riccuto is clearly torn between SAGRATE and hating Port.

Soon as Adelaide get competitive again he can ditch the former and resume full time undermining of us.

I don't think he likes us, but he is a simple dude when commentating. He just calls what he sees and says what he thinks. That makes him better than 90% of the commentators floating around. He sounded like he was about to storm the ground on our behalf when the umps blatantly cheated against us in the last quarter against St Kilda in the 'Ryder to Gray tap at the death' game.

The just bombing the ball forward was back before Dixon returned. The only reason it wasn't there because the games were against West Coast and North. We were just bombing against the Dogs as well, bit they were so sorry on defenders even Finlayson and Marshall were just too big.
yeah, the bomb it long to dixon is proven as a shite tactic. dixon would be lucky to hold marshalls handbag.

Well that or our clearances were rushed shit because we are trying to read Nankervis's tap so we technically win it but its a scramble AND/OR we have no target to kick to because our KPF is rucking...

Thats the disingenuous nature of Ken he will use that stat to defend his braindead shit plan but anyone with a functioning brain can see "there's lies, damned lies and statistics" and it doesn't work

I reckon Schofield would offer more than Motlop and Frederick.

Wouldn't be difficult given they offered literally nothing. Any one of us would be half a chance of getting a kick or handball in a link up play or maybe even laying a tackle on an off balance player and actually contributing more.

Motlop was dreadful. In the first quarter he got done twice holding the ball because he tried fending off. If he hadn't fended on both of those occasions he would've been able to either release it or gotten away with ball ups. In tight contests he never does enough. For somebody on his salary he should be a consistent 20+ disposal player a game with the occasional goal. Instead we usually see a dozen possessions and a few goals in junk time.

Gray has had an awesome career, but his age is catching up to him. Gray is still a match winner and we saw that a few weeks ago against St Kilda. However, at this stage you've got to wonder whether we still go with him or replace him with either Georgiades or even Dylan Williams. If we put aside his reputation he would be getting dropped after his performance tonight.
