Imagine your season being dead in the water and leaving out Duursma, Georgiades, Bergman and Hayes whilst playing a bunch of cooked old players AND a low ceiling potato like Frederick just to rub salt into the wound.

You can't tell me this dickhead isn't in self preservation mode. The end is nigh.

As has already been suggested the effort by most of the players was good enough to win the game, but more often than not the closeness of the scores was due to individual efforts and not team work, as the lack of structure, ala the vast majority of kern's tenure was f****** appalling.

HTF any coach at any level of the game could survive, and even more unbelievably prosper for as long as kern has shows just how f****** absolutely pathetically weak the club has become under Kok.
Previous regimes dispensed with the services of Russell Ebert and John Cahill, and kern wouldn't be good enough to tie their boot laces!

Our AFL history was encapsulated in last night's performance.

Lots of highlights and good bits, lots of cluster**** moments, when pressure and expectation are in the air we turn to jelly, structure works for a while - and then it disappears, etc. All in 120 minutes!

Ken is I think a "decent" coach, but not a "great" coach. And I reckon you would need to be a GREAT coach to get our blokes to perform to an expected elite level.

Our blokes bludge too much and accept mediocrity too easily.

We need someone able to make our blokes ruthless, never satisfied with tedious efforts and performances, plus able to be steely willed and good decision makers (and skills executors) when the heat is on in the kitchen.

Who that person is - I really dunno..........

How the duck is it a one-on-three every time we go into our 50 but then it seems one-on-one in defence? Where are our spare players?
Because we only currently have one forward athletic enough (Marshall) to race back inside 50 to provide a marking option after the entire team has emptied out the forward line and pushed upfield.

Love Boaky but twice in the last qtr he bombed into our fwd line when we had player/s leading. People talk about fwds not leading on here but Marshall was on a great lead with one and Boaky kicked over his head to a Tigers player. It's not the first time in a close game Boaky has lost the plot.
That was absolutely shocking!

How on earth do you lose exactly the same way to the same teams every time you play them for 10 years. We're remarkably consistent at doing exactly the same thing that never worked in the first place.

Its almost like it would of been helpful if we had a third forward who could have neutralised those intercept marks . Oh wait we did he was playing ruck

Pretty depressing when your 34 year old still leads your clearences and your upcoming mids don’t hit targets because theyre too busy shitting themselves from pressure from not being developed into a mid earlier

Gray tonight did not give a single yelp. He was worse than Motlop who played the second worst individual game of the year.
It's almost like it was obvious that Gray's going to need more than just a bye, that was barely more than a week off, to make it through the season. Gray should be getting rested every 3rd or 4th game (if not for a string of games). We'd simultaneously get him through the season and either get Hayes / MG in (or give Williams a go). Hinkley is playing for his job, but he's so shit as a coach, he can't see not giving Robbie a break is going to lead to him being average at best, with games like this he's outright shit, across the back half of the season. Coach clueless can't see he's not going to save his bacon yet again, if he's completely cooked.

I didn't find the umpiring any worse than usual tbh

People wanting a Bonner free against Dusty when he goaled late was embarrassing really, went to ground like the soft**** he is.
Compare the Bonner non free vs the free gibcus got. If one was paid the other certainly should have.

This surprises me
Guessing a lot of our wins are games where we should have won comfortably but Ken parks the bus and it turns into an 11 point lead.

I actually quite enjoyed the game live. Hot Toddy, Tigers supporters everywhere going bunta at the umpiring and calling for ball at every disposal regardless of the presence of a tackler, Bolton absolutely cracking his dacks with every disposal, Motlop not even getting a disposal, the knowledge that every ****-up was another nail in the coffin.

Agreed, I'm obviously no fan of kern but Choco was doing the `shut up shop ' crapola years before the former would have known where Alberton oval was.
lol I look back fondly on the signal. Holding the ball in the air from a kick-in meant "lets chip it around and shut up shop". It got to the point that as soon as that ball was held in the air, the crowd started booing lmao.

How about 33-13 when we played Adelaide over there earlier in the year..? That's when you complain.
The Crows are a protected species who are constantly sucked off by the umps. Check the comments from neutral supporters on the main forum gameday thread if you want to get an independent perspective on last night's umpiring.

Because we've changed everything over the past 10 years except for the obvious?

Because we exist to be consistent?
