Good win, great game to watch. Good to see Cotchin sing the song with gusto and fist pump, gotta keep him.

In the end though what does winning these games now do? Bit of pride, joy and hope for the future? Yeah. We won't make the finals and each win is just pushing us further away from better draft picks. Gotta think of the long-term future not short-term. Good win though.

You are kidding aren't you?

To be honest, this was one of the games we could've afforded to win if we were still wanting to get the priority picks.

Best thing about the win was it was on the back of the youngsters. I can enjoy this win that much more knowing that is the case. Need to back it up against the Dogs on Friday night. Don't necessarily have to win as long as we put in the same type of effort each week and continue to give the kids the big jobs I'll be happy.

So are you saying with 2 minutes to go you wanted us to lose? Don't be ridiculous.

No I didn't want us to lose I was just putting things into perspective. A win or two is nice but play the kids, dump Simmonds and Bowden back to the 2's because they are shit and develop for the future. I would rather lose every game from here on in than come out and win 7 or 8 of the next 12 and finish 9th/10th. That's how much we need good draft picks with the current state of the list. As I said though, good win, was great to see.

I'm not sure if people realise that finishing last doesn't give you an extra 23 draft picks guaranteed to be 200 game players. It gives you the same number of picks, picks which have a very slightly better chance of returning a player who will make it.

It was Bowdens cool head in the last 5 minutes that helped us win that game. Maybe he won't be part of our future beyond next year but don't ya reckon some of the kids may have learned something from him.

Bowden's still a good player for us. He gives, like you said, a cool head sometimes and its what we need.

I thought he was quite good tonight. People on here are very critical about Joel when its obvious that he loves the club.

another pleasing aspect was I thought patto stood up and got better as the game went on. Took a couple of big grabs in the process

hmmmmmmmmmm

just had a look at the stats and there were 3 players who had 0 tackles, i'll let you guess who they are before you scroll down for the answer....

If the win was a result from Brown, Simmonds and Bowden being best on ground then I would be concerned about moving up the ladder further away from quality picks. But the win was a result of Delidio, Tambling, Collins and Polo being best on ground with input from Foley and glimpses of what we can expect from Cotchin. I would rather win games with our younger players playing well and showing they have the talent then losing games because our kids lack talent and get an earlier pick. If we win 9 games from purely the result of our younger players then I won't be crying that we pick 6 or 7 instead of pick 3.

Good game today, after our appalling effort for most of the third quarter we never really deserved to win. I thought we might have snagged a goal at the very end but your young guys held up well under the pressure.

Good luck for the rest of the season :thumbsu:
