* off Port. Future second it is.
Someone who knows the points system better than I care to learn it - is this some gambit to get a 15 or some such off Brisbane? Surely they’re all worth less points even combined than a 27.
Why, if as per the pieman's interview, we wanted more than 27 - would we accept 33 on its own?
Must be something brewing here, more than just the JHF stuff.
Can the AFL not tick off trade exceptions if people are using the trades to acquire young talent? JHF would qualify surely.I don't think they will be able to - as surely their F1st will be required for JHF.
Meaning all of their other future picks are restricted unless they bring in another in the same round.
Because I’m not sure what else we can realistically squeeze out of them… maybe Duursma comes into play, Georgiades etc. but I doubt it
Think it’ll be 33 and maybe a late pick
The Pie Man has moved on to gourmet pies he will stick it to them.Think we should just not bother. One time in trading history I’d rather nothing then pick 33. Let him squirm

As briztoon has said lions don't want a bunch of later picks as they can only take limited picks into the draft .They are worth more points than 27 (471 points extra - equivalent to pick 38).
But they are only just on par with pick 15 (60-odd points different) surely Brisbane get a better offer than that (and if they don't, we should offer something better!).
Leave it and let North take him in the pre season draft .Third rounder, take it or leave it, becoming more likely by the day unfortunately.
We wouldn't use the pick anyway, might as well make Rioli squirm for a bit wondering if someone else will pick him up before Port.Leave it and let North take him in the pre season draft .
North have rawlings and Clayton who recruited rioli in the first place and they would have enough cap space

Port have pick 33, 42 & 51 worth 1217 points
So Port traded 27 for 33, 43 and 52.
What do they offer for Rioli now?
Wonder if they deal points to the Lions.
Does 33 + Frederick get it done? Seems unlikely to me that West Coast would send him to the PSD rather than take that package, but you guys might think differently.
No way he gets to port . Rioli has 2 cousins playing in Melbourne too .North probably aren’t the only team to be interested in him if he went PSd. think Giant, Essendon and Suns would all have a look at him
Posted this last nightShould Rioli end up in the PSD, the chances of North bypassing him so he can walk to Port are very low
Rioli’s manager needs to be in Ports ear reminding them of the commitment they’ve made to his client whilst also putting together a plan B with clubs that had previously expressed an interest

Point still stands, even moreso now Port have diluted the pick most likely to be able to get the deal done
