Yep - could also add Adrian Fletcher to those that went in the cats to dockers direction though via a few other clubs.

I think Marcus Drum might the only player to have come to us.
How about Sam Menegola. He was on Freos rookie list the year before we picked him up.

Yeah was joining a big cohort of similar aged players that hadn’t got it done but anyway I would’ve thought the tigers out worked, out hunted and out pressured the cats last week after 5 straight losses? Maybe it’s work rate …I actually thought the woods might have had a downer last week because it wasn’t one of their monster match ups and might just win by 2-3 goals but boy they were intense and out hunted GWS. I viewed that as a hungry team… that has a want and desire to get it done… let’s see…
Smith as one of our best this year? Hmm
But he had got it done. 3 times in fact. 4 now

That is why his riddles are so much fun 😯

I read it as the exact opposite. Ie don’t forget about our long term management plans when you are disappointed about short term?

but to be honest I have no idea what he was really saying
I actually have no idea either, I'm just throwing grenades in random directions.

Do not take me to war whatever you do

And gave Close 3 bad games early this year to prove it was a slump

the other thing is that when Parf goes out I think he moves into the Narkle (different reason) situation where it will look impossible to get back in

So it is a bigger call for the club than it is for us supporters. They owe it to themselves and Parf to make sure they have given it best crack they can (in particular while danger and guth not available and also in Sir Doug round).

So that means Dempsey squeezed out for sure. (Shame for him but the messaging much easier for a 4 gamer with lots of improvement to come than a 100 gamer). Likely to have 3 ins all for the forward line with only one forced out.

The harder one for me is who the third out is from the 22.

Will they go another young one (Knevitt), forward given ins (Simpson) - both would be unlucky - or manage an older player (2E or Smith?)

Could go any of those options I think?

Then the next interesting thing is the sub. Stay with Jhye or put one of the 2 “outs” into that role?
Glad I am just sitting on the sidelines criticising rather than actually being held to a decision

Who are the three you expect to come in, Close naturally, then who Rohan? Stengle?

Making injuries less likely to occur is preventing them from occurring more often. Is it not?

Yep, but it doesn't make them preventable altogether, which is what you said/implied in your initial post.

Isaac Smith? I'd be worried about a lot of other players before him. Richmond was up and had some luck with those first 6 goals and some help from the umpires. An undermanned Geelong beat them in most areas but wasted a lot of opportunities in front of goal.

Mention of Sam Menegola - poor Sam would have been playing for sure had he not been injured. A far better replacement than Parfitt.

Smith has been one of our best and most consistent this season; at least he gets a few kicks and many metres gained as a result.

It's another 50/50 game but if Bradshaw and Serong get a hold of us we're in strife. Much will depend on Atkins restricting one of that pair and Holmes get off the leash for the entire game rather than a half.

Straight shooting would help.
