Can't see how we will miss Gibbs, he has had his worse year at the club. We would miss him if he was playing at his best but this year due to injury, suspension and whatever other reasons he has really struggled. He is an outside player for us who should receive and deliver, he has really struggled with his delivery this year, so hopefully the rest will make him hungry for next season.

Tutt still in the team...

So who do we play as the sub? Tutt, Holman or Walsh? Personally, I'd rather Tutt and see what Walsh can do over 3-4 quarters.

Very little point having Walsh as sub unless the purpose is solely for experience.

It would have to be Tutt..............surely............surely?

Did you see Byrne last weekend for the NB's?

Only briefly.

Game was on the the background at a catch-up with some folks from work. Was distracted by an adorable 9-month-old baby who seemed to take a liking to me.

Slotted Byrne into my SC side way back at the start of the year in the hopes he'd find his way back to the seniors. Just had a feeling he'd be an absolute gem. Hopefully next week!

I watched the game and was surprised at how good Byrne looked. Is a good size, very quick and excellent skills. The only thing holding him back is match-fitness. In his interview after the game he said he only played 65% of the game (21 clean possessions in that time!).

I am certain he will be in the 1's the following week...looks a level above the VFL now. He has also been in my SC team all year..

Since we're talking about Byrne, we have to remember that he's also a very good athlete and has a mature head on his shoulders.

Expectations may be a little high for now, but he'll be a player soon enough. No question.
I think we're all just excited we have a good young prospect on our hands. So good with his disposals.

Casey has a lot going for him and unfortunately we've somehow managed to forget about Sheehan who was even more impressive in his first year.

Casey, Gus, Jakcsh and Boekhorst should all be playing regular AFL football next year.......just not seeing enough from Smith & DVR to make that call.

Just as long as nobody has any more
babies
gambling problems
hypochondria
relationship problems

Byrne is flashier due to his immense speed off the mark, which makes him more appealing to watch. But for sheer composure and ball use, i'd back in sheehan any day of the week.

Do you think we're in the running for Aish?

Box seat, one would think.

Could finish last, or if not probably second last with only Brisbane below us. If he wants to come to us, we offer pick 20ish or nothing. Brisbane either accept or force him to the draft. Unless they want to re-draft him in the PSD (seems like a waste of time) he gets to us.

Maybe if we're feeling generous, we offer them one of Jones/Watson and ask for their third as well? They need tall forwards, neither bloke looks like making it with us, but they might thrive up north?
