With what I see as a lack of speed and numbers in the middle to run both ways, I'd like to see:

Out: Macreadie, SPS (rested), White (omitted)
In: Cuningham, Graham, Smedts.
Please don't include Nicky G among our speedier types.

Midfield is the only place we should be playing him. IMO he is a midfielder, not a KPF.

You're close to converting me.

It's pretty clear that Charlie plays his best footy when he is allowed to hunt the footy, using his superior athleticism and size to advantage. Like Fyfe, he'll never have elite disposal, but this shouldn't limit his impact in contested situations.

Harker for me, if Weitering goes back, IMO, there is no place in the team at all for Rowe. I'd be more than happy from this week onwards to go Weitering, Marchbank, Plowman and Docherty Williamson and Simpson as the back 6 moving forwards. No problem with that at all. In fact Id prefer it if I'm honest.

So who's forward? Casboult on his own?

Why? He's the best player at the club. He is a key defender. Play him as a key defender.

He is the player we need to build our defence around
He has played wing as a junior and our backline is pretty settled at the moment. Plus i'd like to see him involved in the game more where he has a bit more freedom.

FB: Plowman - Rowe - Marchbank
HB: Docherty - Weitering - Simpson

C: ECurnow - Gibbs - Cuningham
OB: Kruezer - Cripps - Murphy

HF: Silvagni - Jaksch - CCurnow
FF: Pickett - Casboult - Wright

Inter -
White
Williamson (I want to see him higher up the ground playing on the wing/midfield)
Fisher
Polson

McCreadie (soreness) replaced by Jaksch or McKay
Petreski-Seton (soreness) replaced by Cuningham
Phillips (omitted) replaced by Kruezer
cringle avatars another seemingly lost cause - stop it and the pain will go away I promise you

We'd be losing too much to add so little.

No desperation moves required. We have a road map now :)

I think (have always thought) we will ultimately see Doc in the midfield - necessity may speed that up - Murph and Gibbs are in the tail end of their careers. Never follow a road map to the letter - there's always roadworks going on!

Modern game plan - you don't need forwards - just players who can run from one end to the other like that little gun in space invaders!

Love to see it and I hope Bolton plays Gibbs Murphy Cripps all through forward line like Bulldogs. Whilst we are developing I think he will keep it simple and structured

Not close and I think thats the way the MC see it. I'd like to see McKay play but the way we deliver it I'm am not sure it would be a good move.

Rowe when going forward on Friday night lead well and provided a target. Just want to see Weitering settle down back with Marchbank Plowman & Williamson. I think we forget how young and inexperienced he is. Wait until he gets 50 games under his belt before throwing him around. He is a once in a generation key defender. Let's not ruin him

Could not agree more, that was my point re Rowe forward, I'm not saying Rowe as a permanent fixture up forward but if Weiters is to be developed as a swing man than surely you can flick these 2 back and forward throughout a game. Just didn't see the point in keeping Weitering forward Friday night until the last quarter. Rowe has been great down back but think he can push forward to provide a target. Weitering forward requires our mids to hit him up on the lead and that isn't happening the way we are butchering it

Absolutely zero interest in seeing Rowe forward. If he isn't going to play defence, on the " gorilla " forwards people often say here, then IMO there is no room for him anywhere else. IMO, KJ offers far more forward than Rowe would, just as I think Alex Silvagni offers far more to us that Rowe does. As far as McKay goes, as I have been saying, I'm not at all bothered if we don't see him until next year, after another preseason. IMO there is absolutely no reason to rush him into the seniors. I have been pretty consistent on this opinion for months. I'm far more interested in seeing KJ before we get to seasons end to see if his improved form, body size, and performances are just a blip on the radar or maybe we simply have a late bloomer on our hands who could step up and be a good contributer to the senior team. As we know, it often takes several years for some KPP to get there.

KJ isn't close and I wouldn't rush McKay either. The way we deliver the ball into the forward 50 I don't think it would benefit either.

Rowe is there to play a role. It's that simple

Exactly. Summed it all up well
