On the Couch Walls was suggesting that Essendon would be in the depths of dispair for several seasons to come and that WCE would rebuild much faster than that of Essendon due to the quality of their youngsters.

We beat WCE by 22 points, would this not be an indication that our younger players are further developed than that of the Eagles?

What about the fact that Reimers had more possessions than any other WCE player? Or that Neagle kicked as many goals as anyone in the game? Or that Stanton had more possessions, tackles and inside 50s than any WCE player? Or that WCE only had 3 players 22 or under pick up more than 15 possessions compared with 5 of our players 22 or under? Or the fact that we had as many players that had played under 50 games?

Can someone explain to me how Walls believes WCE players will develop far quicker than Essendon's???

Both statements are correct

Yeah I did know he was a tool of the highest order, I was honestly feeling sick watching him the other night (no joke!)... I still can't believe that on every program he's on, every radio station, he gives Essendon a plug for being shit! I also can't believe that he gets a gig on any of those said forums. He brings nothing new to the table... unlike Luke Darcy or Nathan Buckley!!!

Give Wallsy some credit. Admitting Richo was the victim of 4 dumb Richmond coaches, including himself, until Wallace let him loose to roam this season takes a BIG man. Well done Roberto :thumbsu:

For the record Richo had his best season with 91 goals in 1996 under Walls's coaching.

The point u are missing is Lucas, Flecther and Matty are all going out and that is 3 massive outs so any young players are not going to be able to replace them so that is why u are stuffed for 5 years

The point you are missing is we already have their replacements and they aren't retiring yet either.

Whether the replacements make the grade or not, is the situation EVERY club is in.

Robert Walls, Malcolm Blight, Tim Lane and Michael Voss.

Are all a bunch of Tools....

They always make stupid "out of no where" statements they cant backup and are always so very very wrong and yet, they come back the week after to talk even more Bullshit. And the funniest part about it is that they think they're right.

All I can do is laugh and hope that the people who choose these idiots to be commentators can take it in that Tim Lane, Malcolm Blight, Robert Walls and Michael Voss all together are Money Sucking D--- Heads!!

It amazes me how all the pundits will see a kid have a half decent game and then all of a sudden that side has great youth but when our kids do it then they get overlooked.

Pound for pound we have produced some of the best kids over the past 3 years in terms of quality and quantity we'd be in the top 3.

2005 - Ryder, Demspey, Lonergan, Neagle can all play
2006 - Gumbleton, Jetta, Davey, Houli, Reimers, Hislop can all play
2007 - Myers, Daniher, Pears all look like they have the tools to play AFL.

If you're tracking at %50 strike rate for youth in drafts then you are doing well. I reckon we are close to %90 in the last 3 drafts and that is absolutely phenomenal.

Steady on. What has Gumbleton done to show he can play. I am sure he will be good, but for the time being you absolutely cannot say he is a player yet. He has played what, 5 games. To early to call yet.
Jetta has not shown enough to suggest he is a future player yet either. Still alot of question marks over all the players up there, and as promising as they look, I would not be making the 90% success call just yet.
